I'll be the first to call BS. There a many things, but the easiest is this:
You can't hook up three monitors to Dual Geforce 7800s. (Unless you don't run in SLI mode, which I doubt is the case for a gaming machine...)Comment

Yes he did, he said the center machine would have three 19" monitors.
Okay, he could hook it up to three monitors but two of them would have identical display, which again, isn't what he was implying.
The implication that I got was he intended to have 3 monitors all working off of one PC with seperate desktops or a stretched desktop between the 3.
That's not possible with his setup.
You want another debunking? As of now, you can't purchase the nforce4 SLI X16 chipset anywhere except in a Dell XPS 600.
Something else? There is absolutely no reason for dual 500w power supplies, and my bet is he wouldn't have any idea how one would go about chaining those, either.Comment

This will answer about three responses in one. Ironically, I lent my digital camara to an employee who evacuated Houston for the hurricane. I elected to stay here. So I'll post pics somehow, because everything mentioned is already setup except the newer harddrive. What's setup is actually 5x more impressive than what I mentioned. The setup is actually an HD editing, animation, and audio suite, which takes a MASSIVE amount of power (it looks like my UK friend will recognize some of this immediately). The dual Apples on the left run Final Cut Pro and After Effects with an HD capture card. The unit in the middle which I use for gaming has Gigastudios and Maya 6.5 on it, with a Midi keyboard routed through an 828 Motu MKII into a Protools 02 mixing board. I run Gigastudios through Protools with a Digital Performer front end. The computer to the right is my everday computer. I'll typically have my music playing on one screen, Internet Explorer on another, and MS Word/MS Excel/Adobe Indesign stuff on the third screen, ie. the reason to have three screens on it. As far as how can I afford it, I own several restaurants in Houston (with one URL: www.bellaterrazza.com) and a former production company, which should explain the editing suite.
Now, as far as the fx57, because of the hurricane delay, my computer hardware guy hasn't acquired everything yet....is this indeed the faster chip?! Might I redirect his efforts at the 11th hour? Is it faster than the Extreme Edition Intel chip?
I'll list the costs of everything as well when I get them. As far as the Sempron 3100...I don't know what that is, but it sounds painful! I do suppose that, when it's all said and done....with all the extra graphic detail set for on, sniping long distance might become more interesting and/or accurate.Comment

I don't blame you for calling BS...you seem to know your computers. First, that's exactly where I'm getting the computer (from Dell). However since I own everything, I'm getting a stripped down version and incorporating my current RAM, etc. into it. Of course, I'll have an extra keyboard/mouse/harddrive...but as you said, that was the ONLY place I could find that. As far as the triple screens, I haven't heard that BF2 supports more than one screen anyway...but I'll have them. Whether two of the monitors pigtails into one of the video cards, thereby making it three screens...I don't know. I don't have the cards yet. But I WILL have three screens regardless. All it takes is another PCI video card, a generic at that. (Ever since I got three screens at the office, I was hooked and will never go back). Remember, this the ultimate gaming machine. Other games do support triple screen displays, albiet with a little internal tweeking. In all honesty, with the old 6800 you actually have to disengage the other two monitors to get decent graphics on some programs...dunno about the 7800. I do have triple on my left side, and double on my right (read my other post).
Long story short, I already own the monitors...I'm just waiting for all of these FPS to start supporting multiple monitors consistantly. With peripheral vision, these games will get dangerous.
F.Y.I. - At my office, I've got nine computers hooked to a server for my employees....imagine if I upgraded the video cards on those...man what a gaming system.:hmm:Comment

You mean it's not Scuzzy? Why...I....I feel so embarassed. To think I was actually going to use a $9 euphuism for an acronym.
As far as the chipset, the Extreme Edition reads right out that it can be overclocked to those spec, so those are the ones I used...though we might go higher, depending upon the cooling capacities and the stress tests after the sytem is put together. No, we don't know what the clock speed will be. Since moron here decided to show his ignorance, let me elaborate since someone foolishly taught him how to type. First of all, to overclock the BIOS and RAM one needs to know the memory multiplier ratios and the like, which I really don't care to mess with...it's being done for me. I will probably overclock the video cards and play with the voltage myself, using a four hour stretch as a bench mark. That way I'll know if I need to add something else, such as more heat sinks. Sure, the overclocking process can be continual...kind of like tuning an old four carburator car like the Truimph and such. You change one and the others need tweeked.
Secondly, I've NEVER either owned nor bought any of the above magazines. I was programming on an Apple II with 48K in DOS before you were getting your ass wiped, you little pr**k. But thank you for adding insite and wisdom to the forum and to this thread.

You might seriously be better advised to save your cash, just in case one or more of your several Houston restaurants got damaged by Rita. Insurance usually doesn't cover everything, and it sure won't cover lost business.Comment
