Funny post by a lot AMD fans, but I have to go with Intel. I have had a AMD system in the past and was happy, but when my CPU fan melted to the heat sink because the processor was so hot, I said screw AMD didn’t want to risk my whole system because someone said they are better. Intels run cooler, have better success OC’ing. AMD has always been riding the coat tails of Intel, trying to play catch up. Read the reviews, read the benchmarks, taking advice from bias people on a gaming forum is not the way to buy hardware. No pun intended.

Its like the NVIDIA, vs. ATI war, they are both good.

As of right now, its AMD's Athlon 64 for gaming, while the X2's people that are crazy alt-tabbers and multi-taskers. Intel was the king until the AMD 64's came out; since then they went down the drain quite a bit. But, for non-gaming use and/or I want pure, 100% stablitiy and something that wont die ever, I won't argue with an Intel.

Next year's stuff could bring back the competition the CPU industry needs again. What both Intel (there 2nd take on multi-coreing) and AMD (M2 socket + DDR2) are offering is pretty damn interesting. I think its best to say is to wait and see.

Why do you need to buy new ram and case anyway

Wow, guess your behind the times there Dude. Its now the other way around. Intel has all the heat issues these days, and AMD does not. AMD chips are running cooler and cooler and require less power.

If your going to game, there is no debate, AMD is the only option.

Don't buy Clawhammer. Buy Venice core. It's much better, and uses less power, so it won't get as hot. Venice is the newest one if you don't want to go Dual-core.
Currently, best proc out there = AMD X2 3800+, clocking in at $380.00

AMD is better for games...
But if you are like me, and use your computer for games , AND work...
INTEL ALL THE WAY!!!
I work with 3ds max, autocad, MasterCAM, Solidworks...
And the intel will outperform the AMD all the time...
Also i get to use DDR2 4200 and that also helps...

But if you are building a purely gaming machine, and you dont need to worry about hard core 3d apps... then get the AMD all the way... you will save a few $$$ as well...

there almost better in everything now. intel just plain old sucks they have heat power and they cost to much and ortiz is out of his mind. so your telling me 500mhz was a bad overclock on my chip? go smoke some more weed then maybe youll see teh light.

Intel is better for movie rendering, image work, multimedia work, etc. But if that's what you need, you might as well get an apple and be better off.

AMD is better for everything else. AMD is just king. There shouldn't be any gamers who use intel. In fact it ****es me off when I see games (MOH:PA) and it says plays best on intel. Yeah, BS... intel pays them a few bills and now all of a sudden intel plays better? If not for DELL, I think intel would be long dead.
