All intel chips go through a mandatory 2 year testing period, whether they're good after 1 year or not.

        AMD's don't.

Why do you think they cost more?

Don't buy Clawhammer. Buy Venice. Much cooler chip which uses less power.

depends on your budget. what are you willing to spend. i wouldn't buy the ery latest chip though cause it will be overpriced

I just rang up the prices on what I would have to spend going with AMD, Its about 1000 dollars, with the cpu, mobo, ram, and case. Compared to 300 dollars with the mobo, and case. I really want AMD but thats alot of fricken cash seeing that I currently only have about 300 bucks!

try sell your current gear to knock off some of the price.
Why do you need to buy new ram and case anyway

Ditto. First the price attracted me, then the actual performance behind it won me over completely.

                            AMD 64 here we come!

Where did you hear that, from everything I've heard they're passing on DDR2.

Both AMD and Intel are good choices. Though for gaming purposes you may want to go with AMD. Intels chipsets have always been more reliable and stable.
