It's only using the cpu to render the entire thing, not the gpu. Thats why its so slow.

Just upgraded to 3dMark06 and ran w/o disabling any process or screwign with anything and got a 4279...

With the new (new to me since I have not run this before), I think this seems a little low. Is it (specs in sig)?

New(ish) mobo on the way. I'll re-test after install.

yes, somethings not right there, you should be around 16-17,000 with one 8800. i can pull over 19k with two x1900 cards in crossfire and i know most 8800 owners with one card are right on my heels.

it could very well be your ram, your running 3 gigs witch is an odd ball number so you wont be running it in dual channel. more ram is not always better, the most windows xp can properly handle is 2 gigs, anymore and you loose dual channel unless you do some serious tweaking in the reg. still though theres more at play than just the ram, thats a ridiculously low 3d mark score. are you sure you have a beefy enough power supply? also are you sure thats a 3dmark 05 score and not a 3dmark 06? if thats an 06 score i would say its just fine.

                thanks for the help

id try messing around with easy tune 5, the gigabyte over clocking tool. see if you cant get some more juice from the cpu. also id try using riva tuner to over clock the video card a bit, that gts is a good overclocker. id imagine with some over clocks you would be right at 9500 for 3dmark 06. your not going to get much more though than maybe 10k on 3dmark 06. vista though is your major weak spot, you should not be using vista right now if its by choice, its way to buggy still for games and there still are no dx10 games.

So score is mainly from vista huh? Ok well aslong as I know thats why its lower than it should be then im okay with that. As far as vista effecting my games, it doesnt to much. I stll loader twice as fast as most others so im good, thanks for the help

                        Re: What's your 3DMark score?

Hmm, well with XP Pro this time and all backround apps closed (minus the disk defrag though when needed) I scored 52 higher.

                        10750

                        Looks prettier anyways. =P

My old computer that I just replaced a few weeks ago scored significantly lower - 2612! Lol. I played med/high settings on bf2 with a 7900 gs AGP p4 2.8ghz. Res may have been 1024 or the 800x600, not sure...

10750 vs 2612 - Good timing on new computer =D
