I'm just happy because I beat my friend's score of 4429, and he's running a 7800GTX and a Athlon 4400 X2.

lol do u know what that tool is? U dont mount games on that. i show u how it looks like.
That tool disables mounting protection like on Need for speed most wanted.
If you mount NFS:MW u still cant play it will say error so when u click hide it will remove the protection and u can play.

Of course I know what it is, I use it myself. Again, maybe he has backups of his own DVDs/CDs and doesn't like throwing them in the disk drive. And yes I know all about SD4H and NFS.:laugh:

haha yeah, when I was initially building my comp, I bought the plain ABIT AN8-SLi board, and my bastard of a friend had to go out and buy the Fatal1ty. I really liked the guru panel and so I returned the an8 and just went balls to the wall and got the fatal1ty. Other than the guru panel the only difference between the an8-sli and the fatal1ty is that the fatal1ty has OTES fans as opposed to the passive heatpipe. It also has pretty red LED's! haha

installed some new heatsinks and a bit more overclocking and now I get 4042.

With an OC'd 4800+ X2 @ 2.5 and an OC'd 7800+ to 500/1400. Does that score not seem a little low to you? 2MB Corsair dual thingys too, you know, the ones with the LED displays/metal heat syncs :p.

are your chipset drivers installed? what nvidia drivers are you using?
do you have vsync on? did you have any other programs running in the back.

An Nvidia 7800GT shouldn't be able to reach 1.4ghz memory, or are you saying you have a GTX? Sounds like a driver problem or you card is so overclocked that its causing corruption and slowdowns. Try clocking your card at stock speeds and see what you get.

I had mine at 1.4ghz.. others have it at 1.2 or 1.22

I am a little confused, I updated my drivers to the 81.98_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql which is sugggested, but now my 3dmark06 won't even load! I get an error, which must have something to do with that driver.. but I have no idea why the driver they suggest wouldn't work.

I'm not sure if everything is up to date to be honest, everything I installed was out of the box CD's. That driver is the only new thing i've installed, which has now caused 06 not to load.

EDIT: Yeah sorry it is a GTX, I forgot to put it in with the name :p

What error is it?
It might be solved by either reinstalling drivers or updating Directx. And I would suggest using the beta 82.12 drivers. For some reason, I got 500 more points with them than the 81.98 ones, even with everything on the same settings.

okay either update driect x (which it should have done whe installing 3dmark06)
. Now, this probably wont do much BUT listen carefully.
uninstall that stupid System Tweak Crap. Use coolbits and your nvidia drivers to Overclock TRUST ME. put back at stock settings and uninstall it. then install coolbits registry editor. and OC with that, if you need help with that I can help. also riva tuner for now, if you want a better score get rid of all that, uninstall your nvidia drivers, use driver cleaner, and reinstall. then install coolbits and OC from there. and restart your system after wards. but if you perform well in games dont worry, 3dmark is only a benchmark.

also if you are Overclocking your CPU your voltage is a little low, maybe upping your CPU volts (only if you are OCing, if not, leave at defaults).
