memory speed is usaually close to two times MORE. as for OCing, I dont know how much it would help or how much you could do it.

thats a REALLY low score for that rig, something must be wrong, were you running A LOT of applications while doing the test?

Nope....

The result does not worry me as I am happy enough with the performance that I get from my system in the latest games....My point is that the test dont really seem to mean that much regarding how well games will run on your machine......i.e.some guys in this thread have reported getting scores of 4000 with antiquary gfx cards and CPU's and I know there is no way can they have better machine than mine.

Just as I suspected, Intel vs. AMD scores in 06 really heavily favor the AMD processor. It has to be official now, AMD is just plain better for gaming, why do all you Intel users out there cling to your Pentiums? Is it out of a sense of nostalgia? You get more bang (headshot!) for your $$ with AMD, agreed?

Damn, the fact that the X800XL doesn't have SM3.0 gets my score WAY down, anyways, i got 1813, which is pretty good considering when i did multi compare people have X800XLs clocked at 500/600 with WC and Zalman cooling and memory optimized stuff, but once i overclock my CPU back to 2.35ghz then i'll get better results.

WEE HOO, with overclocking my CPU to 2.25ghz, i've gotten my score up to 1850, which aint to shabby, i'm in third place for all people that have taken the benchmark, have a AMD 64 CPU clocked from 2240mhz-2260 and have a X800XL (overclocked mostly), the people above me have INSANE clock speeds, above 500/600 (1200 effective memory) and i'm guessing they have water cooling or great air cooling.

BTW, since i oced my CPU, my CPU score jumped to 856 from like 739, overclocking DOES help a lot i guess for benchies.
