2009! 9800pro all the way...

Got it up to 2255 now!

I feel that with these specs it should be a bit higher though, what do you think??

Since it's basically a GPU benchmark program, Intel inside is a moot point.

Completely wrong. Going from my Intel 2ghz to my AMD 3500+, with my old 6800GT, I picked up 2k points in 3dmark05. I don't care if you didn't mean that most CPU's won't make a difference but a 2ghz Intel would, you didn't say that.

BTW my new 3dMark05 score is 7733. Barely up from my old ASrock ULi Motherboard. Still bloody horrible for the setup.

yeah i got 7300 with the same spec as in sig only with an intel pentuim 4 3.6HT instead of my FX57 now its more like 12000 as it should be

My point was that you can't say, in a broad statement, that CPU's don't make a difference. It comes down to having a CPU good enough to support your VGA.

Probably the same for 05', the point is that CPU can make a difference if its archaeic and the VGA is top of the line.:)

the cpu is not imprortant for 3d mark 05 unless it becomes a bottleneck to the graphics card

Hence the fact that the CPU is important. Saying its not for games like BF2 and benchmarks like 3dmark will lead people to think they can use their 2ghz intel with a 7800GTX and get high scores like those with AMD FX55's.

If you're going to say they don't matter specify that they don't matter unless you're below a certain limit for your card.
