It is a benckmarking program that tests your systems ability to render graphics. The higher the score the better.

I have a lower spec PC and I get 7,6xx with the 6800.

The CaptainKirk up there had a better system than myself, and I got 5,7xx with my 6800GT.

That final 3dmark score is based mostly, if not all, on your GPU.
You can cancel all the cpu tests and still get the same score.
There's alot of different things that that have to come together to get top performance in a damanding game.
Some people I know have higher 3dmark05 scores and can't play BF2 on the settings I can with the performance I can.

There are better GAMING benchmarks out there that do just that. :)
