    Wrong, 7800 GTX 24-parrellel pixel pipelines > 6800 16 parrellel Pixel Pipelines.

its exactly 1.5x stronger and more powerful in terms of pixel render power compared to the 6800.

OMG.. some of you guys just think you know it all. I have a 6800 Ultra and a 7800 GTX, trust me, there is a HUGE!!! difference in performance AND image quality. Please don't post unless your really in a position to know. The only thing you know is the 7800 GTX is expensive and PCI-E only, other than that you don't know sqaut.

So how does transparency AA look on your PC? I hate having shimmering fences and foliage.

For the 7800 it looks as real as possible providing that your screen is being colored with squares.

The difference in the 7800 is it doesn't blend colours, it extrapolates the color 3-Dimentionally creating a more realistic anti-aliasing.

Although you must bear in mind this is a new feature and can only be used by those games which support it. Otherwise its normal AA, and AF. BF2 is not a next generation game so your not gonna get the realistic AA. Although for next generation games like UT2007 you will.

So why buy a 7800GTX now when you can't see the true advatanges until next year at least and by next year they will have dropped a huge amount in price. This is all people are saying. Bang for buck. Right now 6800's are good enough for most everybody and represent the best value out there.

There's nothing wrong with the 7800's and are obviously better but it isn't really representative of the increase in cost.

I also agree with u ud!t, majority of online gamers don't have these high end cards and i find it hard to believe so many people on this forum have these pc specs(unless the are lying). My pc specs are below and as u can see they kinda suck right now. But as soon as i upgrade this month i should be able to play at medium/ high settings. And if u wonder where im get the money from i have a job and im 16 working hard soon to be 17.

lol...this has got to be a joke...you kids have waaaay to much money to waste

wait till you get to the real world and tell me that those games were worth 3k to look pretty...

                    Dell 4600
                    P4 2.8 (200Mhz FSB)
1.5GB ram(i have no idea what brand, honestly, ram is ram is ram)
                    40GB Western digital
                    GeforceFX 5200 8x AGP

I run BF2 on low-mediumish and it looks fine...and I guess it hasnt hurt my skills much either not having fancy shadows and anti-ailiasing (still not sure what AA does... )

is it better to have a 6800 and a 7800 in the same computer working together?

For SLi, they have to be the exact same cards. You cant have say a 6800 Ultra and a 6800 GT.
