you want 800mhz ddr2 ram at least
i'd still suggest getting a small, easy to reformat, 10k rpm hdd in addition to whatever storage drives you want...

you don't want a case which already has a psu in it, i would suggest maybe an antec 180 or antec nine hundred gaming case

I agree with Richard about the case, get a antec p180 or 900

also either get vista 64 or downgrade to 2GB ram.
2 8800GTX's would also be fairly pointless without DX10 IMO

Here we go:

1. Cpu is fine, stick with that.
2. Never go with a watercooling in a box, either go air cooling or build a watercooling setup yourself.
3. Mobo is not good, it's a old chipset and will NOT work with sli. Get a mobo with the 680i chipset if you want dual cards.
4. You don't need 4gb of ram, and xp won't use it all anyway. Stick with a 2gb kit.
5. Hd's are fine, you only need one, two won't increase your performance noticeably and doubles your chance of losing all your data.
6. Optical drive is fine.
7. Video cards are really good, but unless you have a 30" monitor (2650x1600 res) you'd be a complete moron to buy two. You only need one, since I know you don't have a monitor that large.
8. Os is good, but if you want to use 4gb of ram (again, overkill) you'll need either 64bit xp or vista.
9. Case is complete crap, if you're spending this much you can afford a much nicer one.
10. Psu is good, though I'd go for the 750w modular toughpower if I were you.
11. You don't have dial up, why waste 10 bucks on a modem?
12. Wireless and sound card are fine.

Sure there are less bang for the buck, but buying two 8800 GTX for a non-SLI motherboard is also an expensive mistake.

And since you really don't need SLI then take P35 mobo and you'll later be able to up-grade the processor if that Q6600 will ever grow slow (I doubt it). You can use 680i with 1333 Mhz generation processors but you need to tweak the BIOS a bit for them to work whereas P35 they work natively plug-and-play style.

First things first. You don't need DUAL SOCKET mobo. That would mean two physical processors (you don't have to of course so it's optional). You'd be paying just extra for nothing.

Second 1000W PSU is a bit of an over-kill.

So take these. I can assure you'll be more than happy. I usually don't push my stuff this blatantly but it seems that you are on the mercy of other people's opinions and techie friends.

The E6750 can be overc-clocked easily past 3,5 GHz on stock air if there's a need. Not likely unless you'll be running 8800GTX and a game uses multiple threads.

It's a bargain. I got mine for 180 euros so it's not going to bankrupt you who seem to have money to throw around.

And if you dislike Asus take the MSI P35 Platinum motherboard instead.

You'll save money and be more than well equipped to run your choice of graphic card 8800GTS 320MB.

Besides later you can swap in the DDR3 when the prices are more reasonable.
