i would maybe suggest changing the q6600 to the G0 version... just to save a few watts and improve overclocking potential

you have the wrong type of ram there, should be 6400 (800mhz). sure you want 4gb?

i reckon the psu is somewhat overkill, although if you are future-proofing it could be worth while. the corsair 620w looks pretty sweet imo

regarding hard drives, and seeing as you aren't cutting many corners, i would suggest getting a wd raptor 36gb hdd as your primary windows/games/prog files holder... which will be very much helped by the 10k rpm speed. this way you can also easily reformat etc and not lose all the data from your storage drive (the 500gb one)

pretty much the pc i was going for.. i'd just be worried about getting fingerprints on the shiny case, and the fact that it must weigh a tonne


edit: sorry didn't see you were getting 2 GTXs... yes that psu will be needed

the G0 uses less power, therefore runs cooler and can be overclocked more

You might have some problems with the DDR 400 (PC3200) RAM and the Q6600, considering that Core 2 Quads arn't DDR compatible. Maybe some nice DDR2 800 (or up).

*edit* infact the mobo doesn't even take DDR, only DDR2. And no SLI, so 2x 8800GTX?

We are, we are pointing out your mistakes, DDR2 is also mostly cheaper then DDR. Check Hardforum.com (hotdeals section at the bottem) and slickdeals.net for good deals.

why dont u get a full sized tower and not a micro mobo something like a 680i. (is there even 2 pcie slots in there)
a 620 watt power supply would not have enough power.
and get ddr2 ram.i dont know if u have a 64 bit os but if u have a 32bit the max ram is 2.5 gb. a different case.
why not just by an apple 32" screen??

I am very sure PNY isn't that good of a company for GPU's, as they charge a bit high?

And, I would ditch the 7200RPM drive, and get faster ones, like 10,000RPM.

Guys I seriously think we aren't in the area of advice anymore and more in the area of badgering.

First off he seems to have an average price in mind, so lets respect that.

Second, lets not go to far beyond his original specs, if he put down 2 8800GTXs but only a single PCIe x16 mobo, use you imagination and find an SLI mobo in his original mobos price range.

Thirdly, only step up if up a part if the next up isn't to much more expensive or about the same price.

Now higher 10k or 15k RPM HDDs vs the standard 7200ROM HDDs is like apples and oranges. For the price difference to preformence ratio, they are a complete waste of money. Rather spend it on some better preforming RAM and you'll see better load times in game. G0 Q6600 are nice, especially if you OCing, but lets face it, juding by the combination of Mobo, RAM and CPU he is not going to be OCing anything. Also unless a website advertise G0, your chances of getting one are 1 in 2 meaning that they will throw them in if they have em. Next do not SLI 2 8800GTX, its a waste of power, infact skip the 8800GTX and rather look for a cheap 8800GTS 640MB version, the 9800GTX is already on the way and Nvidia has already dropped all development on the 8 series (with the exception of drivers and maybe some slightly better midrange cards) do to a flaw in the power needed for the CPU and DX10 preformence issues (lol, not as serious as the ATI one though).

I'll let the others take it from here.

I was about to point out the obvious that you are getting micro ATX mobo which is a very bad idea for a gaming rig.

Also don't settle for P965 chipsets anymore since they don't suport natively 1333 processors. Get P35 based board. I really don't see any point in investing the older gen hardware anymore especially since the newer gen hd pays the same (mobos and processors).

i think you are dead wrong regarding the hdds... i think they offer far better value than 'better ram' and given that he is spending 2.5k on this, an extra 90 dollars for a setup that is 10 times as efficient is money well spent. 2 hdds are better than one, simple as that.
