it definitely will. but does anyone really use that ageia physx card nowadays? not only does it not perform very well, it doesnt make the game much better too. better off not having it and put the money to sli the cards.

It will, but those machines are about a big a waste of money as you can get.

Suggest another? I'm probably the most useless person for building my own computer, so I just go for the biggest name I know

Those AMD's are on their way out, and the next generation of chips will require a new motherboard AND ram... You can do so much better Graphics-wise these days as well, for not much more money.

So NO, that's NOT very futreproof and your PC shop people obviously don't know the second thing about gaming computers.

This rig I think would barely be able to play BF 2142 at medium settings with decent framerates anyhow.

What I'd do is go back there and get them to quote you a system based on an Intel Core 2 Duo and an NVidia 8800GTS 340. That will guarantee a lot more futureproofing than this one will. Core 2s are cheap, and so is memory at the moment. Or at least get the best video card you can and then get the most bang for your buck with the rest.

                  Just my 2 cents...

Vista won't be good for much of anything with that system ya know...

That's better, but I'd still say you switch out the AMD stuff for Intel. I'm not a fanboy--it's just that their line has much more expandability right now than AMD's and you said you wanted to be more futureproof. However, that is a decent AMD chip and will keep you humming for quite a while.

                    Your call.

that amd athlon is really very old.

and if u want to get 667mhz ram, u might as well go for 800mhz or 1066mhz.

and 80gb hdd? a couple of big games and that hdd is full, maybe u can try for those 250gb or 500gb drives.

the 7600gs is pretty old story for that shop to pass off as new... i suggest the 8800 at least.
