I do. Pretty much everytime I use the net to download/upload anything.

I have 2m/512kb connection and the speed test gives me 1840kb/450kb so pretty much maxed out when you take into account the overheads which are in all the DSL connections.

Of course it matters, the closer it is the faster.
With LAN I think some people can get over 100 mb/s since its so close

with LAN it goes as fast as your Ethernet card in your computer is...its usably 100 mb/s

My connection is supposed to be 2Mb/s down and 512kb/s up.
I can usually download at 200 kB/s from file planet, so it seems accurate enough.
