does anyone actualy get those speeds

is there anyone who ran a speed test (www.speedtest.net) and then actually got those speeds in a real download/upload

average 800 kbs when getting a file (but i have seen 2-3 mb while getting a file)

I have a 7Mbit connection and i have reached my limit which i believe is about 875-890KB/s when downloading a game from steam.

I am pretty sure its to do with the servers that you are downloading from etc.

Ummm, speedtest.net is giving you the speed in kilo(or mega)BITS (kb) per second.. where as your file download in windows is almost always listed as kiloBYTES (kB) per second. 8 bits to a byte, so for the OP:

350kBps x 8 = 2800kbps


unless you are actually getting downloads at 350kbps... if thats the case I'd be doing some major complaining to my isp.

Other way Vika.. your 945 is already in bits.. if you want to find the kB you'd divide by 8.. or 945/8= 118ishkB so your only getting about half of your rated kB
