No. 70c is the absolute max before damage occurs.

That is for the Q6600 G0, other CPU's have different max temps. You can find your CPU's max temps here: http://processorfinder.intel.com/

            Re: Yay, 3.6ghz !!!!1!!!1

1.6v is very, very high, even for watercooling. You should not exceed 1.45v on air cooling.

There is no way that CPU is staying under 70c with 100% load at 1.5v...

overclocking failed . it ran fine for days then all of this sudden on post it wants to fail..so im trying more voltage...the bios says 1.5 but its only putting out 1.47 something or other..i was reasing where certain vid will hit 4ghz with .146 but i dont see how ..

1.5v for a Q6600 is fine, just not much more.

If you are putting in 1.5v in the BIOS and it's reading 1.47v, it means you're getting a fair chunk of Vdroop.

Is there a "loadline calibration" option in the BIOS?

yes there is a load line..what should it be put to?
i ran it all the way up the 1.6v no fregin 4ghz ..jesus...it loaded the bios at 67c thoe at 1.6v which is not gunna work for any cooling solution LOL

1.6v is too much for a Q6600 and will damage it. After about 1.55v, electromigration occurs in CPU and will reduce it's lifespan substantially.

Turn loadline calibration on. It should help reduce Vdroop and cause the voltage supply to the CPU to be more stable.

Well, i'm at the same voltage but booted into Windows and fairly stable at 3.7ghz!
