    EDIT: although vikas above statement is not entirely true, i would say the 4850 wins price v performance

      I don't know. The 4850 underperforms in many aspects that may raise some eye brows.

      Yes, price wise it will be what catches one's eyes. But by overall performance, you are sacrificing quite a bit. My friend had one of them, the 4850, then moved to the 4870. He keeps commenting on the latter's higher quality and overall performance.

      Yes, it is once again ultimately up to the buyer, I myself would go for the 4850, it is after all a heck of a lot cheaper, but in my honest opinion, the 4870 lives up to everyones dreams (for AMD and us, the gamers) by a long shot.

        Il be buying the 4870 probs... and looking at this poll on the hexus forums
        so are most other people. So i personally would pu the extra performance as worth the cost but looking at is statistically (I.E FPS per £/$) which is what hexus do at the end of thier reviews the 4850 comes out on top. I know this review is slightly flawed and at the end of the day its splitting hairs but i liek to argue

          So do I. I was about to do the same money vs. FPS, but was sceptical on how much you would believe me on values like that.

          But yes, the 4870 reigns for the extra 40 quid.

              Kinda... you can thank AMD for the ones which have coem down in price but top of the range cards are still £300-450

                Dont worry amd are bringing out a 4780 OXC Black edition, or somthing like that, which will no doubt cost more

                      Ah thats an overclocked 4870 i saw the typo and obv only saw the 80 at the end and thought it was a new card. Sounds awesome for anyone with watercooling and a small nuclear power station in their case

                        Update to prices of graphics cards...

                        Nvidia has cut its costs to combat the ATI cards:

                        GTX260 = 220 ish
                        GTX280 = 340
                        9800GTX = 130

                        Expect more of this as Nvidia shares are dropping in price

                        Its worth noting that the slight premiums that were on the AMD cards cave started to dissapear so the prices of them are coming down £5-10 in places

                          That's actually ridiculous, it's probably the best graphics card deal out at the minute.

                            NOPE 4850 is better card and the same price if not cheaper

                            Personally i think the 4870 for 180ish is a better deal aswell
