    GTX280 finally has some benchies...

NVIDIA unleashes GeForce GTX 280 hell. A beast from the underworld or a mere shadow of G80? We tell you.

Personally it think the numbers will improve with some driver revisions however the starting price is way too high.

Go for the 512Mb 8800GTS or the 8800GT, the old GTX is outdated now and the the 9800GTX is just higher clocked 8800GTS.

The ATI cards coming out soon are set to be extremely promising although i have heard it all before.... still possibly worth waiting for.

One thing to note daft is the 8series draw way more power than the old radeons so u may need a new PSU :|

We have a new benchmark out for the high-end cards, courtesy of Anandtech.

There is a lot of speculation about graphics cards and their respective benchmarks around at the moment.

            When the 4870 4850 GTX280 and GTX260 9800GTX+ are fully out i will write a mini review/comparison/summary :)

New nvidia drivers have full Physx support, meaning no fps drop by turning Physx on in games like UT3 / Mass Effect / CoH ect http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_physxgames_home.html

              from here or ...

No they get overwritten, basically you extract the driver to a folder replace the inf and install the driver.

You also need the newest Physx, shouldnt be too long till the official release tho.

You need an SLI mobo which adds an extra 30-60 over a normal motherboard, 2 8800GTs will be about the same cost if not more and it will probably use abount the same if not more power. Unless your playing at massive resolutions i doubt you would know the difference

End of the day a single GPU solution is more sensible 90% of the time.

I would really urge people NOT to stay faithful to Nvidia just because the 8800s where so good, putting money into the underdog forces the market to improve, when the underdog is actually better and cheaper... surely its a no brainer?

Same with AMD chips, yeah the X2 64s where good but the C2Ds are sooooo much better! If AMD released a decent chip that competed i would happily jump onboard and scrap my Intel. Never stay faithful to a hardware developer it makes no sense.

I don't know where you found this chart, but it's wrong. It must be from an nVidia fanboy site for a few reasons:

Nvidia's GeForce GTX200 focuses on brute force performance, while AMD's ATI division concentrates on features, efficiency and on performance per mm² of die. Is this enough to beat Nvidia?

It beats the GT in every way.

I don't have the link, but the 4850 has been proven to perform better than two 3870's. That chart has them above it.

Every site I've read has clocked the 4850 at around 10-20 FPS higher than the GX2. I don't trust sites other than tomshardware anyways.

thats from anandtech, iv read hexus aswell.

Are you sure the results you where looking at had the same resolution and AA?

You cant rely on a single site but to me the results above seem to make sense. Im going to get a 4870 once i get some cash so il let you know how it is

Edit: sorrry i read the review so ignore the "Are you sure the results you where looking at had the same resolution and AA?"

Interesting as both sites are regarded highly!

Well I just ordered a 4850, so that should be here by Saturday. My friend already got his [oem somehow, ****ing bastard] and he runs CoD4 at over 120FPS max AA, AX, and max res.
