Well, the 8800gt is theoretically better. It has more hardware inside it and the only reason the 9600gt matches it is because of the higher clock speeds. However, since i got the "superclocked" version, it should be a lot faster.

From graphs i've seen, i should expect a nice 10-15fps gain on most games i play.

The 8800GT does get quite hot, EVGA says it's rated to 100C I think. And make sure to check if you have one with the EVGA BIOS fan speed update, or you fan will be at 29% until it reaches 100 or something. The new BIOS smoothly ramps fan speed up.

The only reason i chose that superclocked edition is because it was the same price as the normal EVGA 8800gt on other sites

When I bought my 8800GT, the OC version was the same as the standard after rebates.
