Well, i bought my 8800gts 320mb off ebay and i got screwed royally. The member no longer is registered and XFX won't touch it with a barge pole since RMA requests must go through official resellers.

So... bearing in mind the soon to be GTX280/260 and the 4 series Radeons, i need something to tide me over that is of equal performance or slightly better than my 8800gts 320mb.

But no I suggest waiting for that GTX280...I know I"ll be stepping up when it comes out!

As for..

XFX won't touch it with a barge pole since RMA requests must go through official resellers.

Get used to that... all of them are going that way due to lost revenue from people trying to RMA dead cards they didn't purchase..the ones that people OC poorly and end up killing then blame the defect on the builder.

9600GT is bout equal to a 8800GTS 320/640mb. I say wait until 4xxx and GTX 2x0 come out. That'll drive down prices some. You'll prolly be able to get a 8800GT for less than $150. But you should be looking at either an 8800GT or 8800GTS 512MB.

I've seen bench marks already of the 280's and these ATI cards your hyping.... ATI doesn't have a chance and when you look at price and performance of the cards..Nvidia will slap ATI in the face with those regards.

When you look beyond the performance perimeter, you will have Nvidia standing there with those 280's being quieter,cooler and using less power than ATI's new step childs.

Still don't think its happening do ya... thats ok companies are not stupid and they are changing how they setup their RMA's and warranty repairs, and this is a prime example of how XFX is doing it. BFG started and a few others have followed suit.

Okay Sava and Hellsent, this isn't a arguing thread so lets keep it on track. Whatever the case, i need a new card. (and i have heard from many forums that the new Radeons are meant to be better if the leaked specs are true)
