the 8800GTS has outlived its worth even in SLI its worthless price wise against a already better card the 8800GT...so to even compare this card with two of the GTS cards is pointless. It did however compare it against the 8800GTX in SLI.

          Starts about right here:

The main review here is of a "single" card against others on the market. Its pretty much useless anyway with the 9800GTX to hit the market in two weeks.

I wonder what it will be like when the NVIDIA 10800 Double Ultra Plus Mega Premium Platinum Diamond embedded cards hit the shelves at $2,000/card.
Which will enable you to play Crysis with everything on very high and play at Cinemax quality on 8 monitors lag free.

But seriously these cards design and overall power keeps increasing pretty significantly. I wonder what we will have next year from BFG and EVGA.

We're talking about the G92 8800GTS's not the old ones G80 ones. Big difference.

Further more, the 9800GX2 is actually 2 8800's not practically, and it costs the same... not the price of a single 8800GT (which is what I have btw)

hmm.. well i think ill try and skip the 9 series all together.. and wait for the one after it.. wether its going to be a 10000GTX or whatever.. but if it gets to the point i just cant play any of the newer games that are coming out then ill have to just buy the 9 series.. no biggy

didn't really matter which ones you were talking about.. its rather a pointless comparison on either.

best to bypass this card and go for the 9800GTX if your lookin to upgrade in the next few weeks.

Ohh by far a 9800GTX if you have the cash...if you just wish to spend around 350-400 then a 8800GTX is for you. I'll be selling mine in a few weeks I'll let you know when

hard to say at this point...but if it turns out like the 8800GTX did over two 7900GTX's in SLI then it might be yes..but that depends on how much money you wish to pay of one over two of similar cost.

well ill think ill wait.. see what happens read the reviews once its out and then base my decision :) i was really hoping to go for two GTX's due to cost.. but if the 8800GTX isnt going to play the games that r coming out later this year then there is no point.. i have heard even Sli'd 8800GTX's struggle on crysis with high settings

                            EDIT:

the 9800GTX is only going to be $429... does that seem right?

but if i could get the 9800GTX for the same price as the 8800GTX i will :p

but that looks a bit dodgy.. i cant imagine the new GTX being undero $500
