How much are you willing to spend?

Seeing you can go for the 8500.

For $10 more, you can get the 1950xtx

1950 is a pretty high-end DX9 card pretty good for games like bf2/2142, if you mainly want to play bf2 i think it looks ok.

that's the card i was using for a year before going with an hd3870. they are monster-fast cards, and good overclockers with a decent hsf. for $145 dollars that's a no-brainer, in my book. the next real step up would be in the hd3870/8800gt for ~$100 more.

my only problem with it was the blower on it sounds like a small motorcycle.

My dad's company's design team used these in their design computers, they were absolutely gorgeous, though I didn't understand the necessity to run them in XFire , but they were amazing.

I installed BF2142 on one of them for the sake of it, I will never be that happy again.

I was planning on moving to these cards along with a brand new setup, but in came the DX10 cards

But yes, the 1950xtx's are beauties.

                My dad got a 8500 256mb for $20, I wouldn't suggest spending anymore than that on a 8500....
