    which graphics card?

So i just went and bought a new video card, and i went in to the store with intensions to buy a 8500gt but ended up walkin out with a x1650pro because the guy convinced me it would be better for gaming then the 8500gt. I havent opened it up yet cause im not sure how good it will be. I play bf2142, how good will the x1650pro be for it? should i take it back and get the 8500gt?

    8500gt was 135$
    x1650 pro was 105$
    (both 512M)

and im not gonna spend crazy amounts of money to buy an 8800gtx or whatever, my max is 150$, is there any suggestions for other cards within that price range? i was also thinkin of gettin the x1950 pro, its a little more and i dunno if its worth it.. is it?

the X1650 and the 8500 are both low-end cards. If you can, spring for the X1950, you'll see way better performance with it. Trust me, people at stores are totally clueless when it comes to this stuff.

the x1950 is only 256m, does that matter much?

o ya, the guy there said if i get the 1950, i would probably need a better power supply, mines 500w right now, would i need a better power supply or is he just trying to make me waste more money.

even with 256, it is still better. Believe me, I had the X1650 pro and it was terrible

It depends on what brand your current PSU is?

If its one that came with a case then it will be poo and you will need a new one.

I recommend one from a top brand ie Akasa, Tagan, OCZ, Cooler Master, Corsair etc

                a 500W will EASILY handle a X1950

Im running 3 hard disks, overclocked E6600, overclocked 8800gts, sound card and everything on a 580W....

i got a question, what would be better?
                  a x1950 pro(512) or
                  a 8600GTS(256)

                    Rad through this:

You can compare the two cards in different games here:

( know they haven't got the 256 X1950, but it'll give you a rough idea.)

this is why I don't really like that site for graphic card comparison

Beaker, where do you live? (Just wondering for what site to give a link from)

PS: This would be the best card for your budget: HIS Radeon HD 2900GT 256MB

don't pay money for an x1650__

                              they just aren't worth it.

in the super-budget models, 7600__ is still king,

+$100, you have lots and lots and lots of great options.
