    And @ Scinto

I quite wanted a 22" screen. What is wrong with the ones i suggested, just bad quality?
thats where the concept of saving up comes into play :)

EDIT: and also, that one that -Dan- recommended says it only has a vga input. I would look for one with a dvi input.

I just use the VGA to DVI thingy I got with my GFX card and works fine. :p

Yeah, but you dont get the quality of the dvi connection, it just goes back to analog. Vga is an analog signal, while dvi is digital. So, I would probably get a monitor with dvi since a lot of things are going digital these days, and dvi could possibly start to become the norm and get more of its potential used. I also see a slight increase in picture quality when I have my monitor hooked up via dvi, so I say get it if you can.

One more Q, what does the 1000:1 or 700:1 mean?

                Thats the contrast ratio.

Higher it is, the more contrast there is between white and black. Therefore, it usually offers a more dynamic and better picture.

Good points, just had a look on the back on mine and it has a VGA port and a "DVI-D" port also, think it would be better picking up a DVI cable and using that rather than the VGA lead?

Well, the Acer is out of the options now as it has a lower contrast ratio. So, it is between the Hanns.G and the Belwhatever. I'll have to do a few comparisons.

Honestly, i don't think i'd notice too much difference between VGA and DVI. If it was so much better, surely all new screens would incorporate it?

Yeah, why not. A dvi cable is like 10 bucks, and I think it is worth it.

I'm not sure. But, I would just get it in case in the future dvi supports some new thing that vga doesn't.

Use DVI, better signal, no noise (or very little noise) and no configuration needed. Plus, DVI has an analog channel built in if it's needed.

Eeek... but DVI makes things more expensive! Can anyone find a monitor of roughly the same price with DVI?

The Acer has a lower contrast ration at 700:1 rather than the 1000:1 of the others. I think i will get the Hanns. G.

I know you say VGA is worse, but if I use HDMI out of the monitor into a DVI plug in the back of my graphics card, will this produce better quality?
