Alex, make sure you get one with a DVI connection, VGA causes reduced quality images as your graphics card has to convert the signal from digital to analogue causing some loss of imformation in the process

The Cibox one doesnt come with a DVI connector, unless you buy the version from scan which is a different model

I would really reccomend the monitor myself and scinto have the LG L226WTQ but its become a bit more pricy since i bought mine in june

Also the Samsung 226BW/CW are excellent monitors, but they are a bit out of your price range

Too late, already bought the Hanss.g one, and it arrives tommorow. To be honest, i couldn't really care that much about the difference between DVI and VGA quality. VGA looks good enough for me, so i'll go for that. Plus, DVI monitors were like £40-£50 more expensive, so that also meant no!

Hmm, guess it's your loss then. I did see a pretty good increase in quality with dvi.

No, a loss would have been spending £50 extra for DVI.

Got to go with what you can afford, I've only just (last year) paid off all my student debt! Tells you my priorities

Whatever you say. But you haven't used DVI before so I don't know how you know that it would be a loss.

Yes i have, my entire computing labs run dual 24" DVI screens, and whilst i notice a slightly better quality, i do not believe it warrants me speninding extra money.

I have my monitor and am using it now, and am very happy!

Dual 24" for every computer, i bet that cost a fortune

My uni has 19" LCDs mostly and dual 21" CRT screens in the gaming labs, because the computer games design guys prefer crt's due to faster response times

Yes, the department is one of the richest in the UK which is good :)

They also just bought 40 new 8800gtx's for some of the computers, because people like to LAN it up in their after office hours. They are very cool about what we can and can't do with the computers!

Well i just had a lan game with some class mates the other day, problem was that it was in the standard computer labs which have x300 graphics cards, its wasnt much of a problem on quake 3 though
