i think a 25% moving from a dual core netburst pushing close to 4ghz to a c2d @ 3.1 is pretty much on par, figuring as how the 3dmark05 score is calculated from cpu and gpu performance. the difference in games is quite noticeable.
have to wait until i'm feeling more adventurous to do super pi comparisons unless i can dig up some old ones (i'm NEVER, NEVER, NEVER touching that ^%$& heatsink again--working wonderfully, btw). i'll give the e6600 a go just to make sure things are clicking right, though.
