Haha, tell me about it. The worst thing that's happened since I've been here is a shooting (involving only Turkish nationals) in the village directly off base. A few bombings in nearby Adana as well, but no major threat. I'm not complaining.

EDIT: I see my totalbf2.com ranking is "specialist", if only I put on real rank this quickly...

First off, that system simply rox. Why you paid what you paid, probably makes sense for your situation. If I could afford it, or the situation called for it, having someone else tackle the build may be just the thing to do. Their headache, and probably a little warranty to go with the work. A year from now, rigs like this will be relatively common, and very needed to be able to run DX10 and future games. When Crysis comes out, there will be a whole bunch of current BF2 players, scrambling to upgrade rigs, in order to play it. So, you are way ahead for now. Nothing wrong with that.

The difference between Vista Home Premium and Ultimate is the business portion of the Operating System. Unless your running a business from home, you don't need all that extra business stuff, such as networking tools. Your better off to buy Home Premium for half the money, and add Office 2007 for word processing and publishing. (if you had gotten Home Basic, yeah I would question that, but Home Premium is definitely the way to go for a gaming rig)

As far as ram recognition goes, supposedly, XP can see up to 4 gigs. But I don't know anyone that has gotten past 3.5. My last rig with XP Pro (SP1), became unstable at 2 gigs, which is why I went to Vista 32, because it can actually see 4 gigs. I just built a new rig with Vista 64, it has 4 gigs, and Vista recognizes all of it. 64 is supposed to be able to see 8 gigs, which hopefully I will upgrade to next year (we'll see).

I don't claim to be the tech like the guys that built this rig, but I would be willing to bet, they chose those parts for a reason. Not here to criticize ...all I can say is ...lucky you, and I'll get there, hmmm, maybe next year.
