thats because if it was on, you simply wouldn't be able to ping the computer next to you. Nothing uses IPv6 yet.

That's not true - BF2 works perfectly with IPv6 enabled, because it's an IPv4 application.

They're two seperate things - they both run in tandem, and your IPv4 applications use the IPv4 stack, and your IPv6 applications use the IPv6 stack. Unless your Router or ISP supports IPv6 (which neither do), then you aren't using it anyway :)

I just reinstalled it in compatibility mode, doesnt work, doesnt even start. I reinstalled it again in regular mode, started it up, played and it worked good for about 5 minutes until it started stuttering and lagging. i tried 3 different servers, i had less than a 30 ping. I went into the registry and turned off IPv6 and guess what, no more lagging or stuttering, i played 3 rounds without a bit of lag. you cant tell me that IPv6 doesnt have anything to do with that, unless you just have issues or want to argue with me

Yeah, that doesnt disable everything, i think it even says so in the website that i linked to up above. there are still tunnel interfaces of some sort running and it still gives problems when i play bf2, until i disable it all in the registry

And in contrast to that, BF2 works perfectly for me in Vista x64, as-is. I haven't disabled IPv6, nor am I running either BF2 or it's setup in Compatibility Mode - everything JustWorks™

it worked for me as well just fine in x64, im talking about in 32bit, maybe other people arent having the same problem, but i have a problem and disabling ipv6 fixes that problem

I am also running Vista Ultimate 64bit and im having the same lag issues with BF2. I haven't tried disabling IPv6 bit i will definitely try it. This lag is doing my head in!! I'll let you know how it all goes.

to Zackattack2005 -

Could you give me a step by step guide on how to create this new registry thing. I know how to get into regedit, i just get a little lost after that. Cheers!
