cd reader problem?

hi i recently got a new custom case and when i put my old cd reader in bf2 has been skipping and ffreezing alot ihave tried everything reinstalled bf2 updated my video drivers and even added another 512 meg ram is it my harddrive? processore or video card? i have also been playing for hours lately mybe my video card is screwed from playing so long?

amd athlon 64 3400+ 2.2 ghz
intergrated nvidia geforce 6100 256mb
200 gig hard drive(emachines hardrive)
1.5 gigs ram

It wouldn't be your HD, Processor or CD-drive. It's most likely your video card (or lack ther eof more specificly). 6100 is pretty much the lowest of the low that will play BF2.

What setting are you trying to play at? 800x600 all low would be you best chance of being playable.

What are you sound settings set to? Low adn Software, with EAX off would be best for your setup.

im going to get an ati sapphire x1600 pro 512 mb pcie video card shud i have better luck with that?
