thermal paste goes between the metal heatsink and the gpu core die. typically, you put a dab the 1/4 the size of a half-pea on the gpu core, flatten it out with something (I prefer using the edge of a piece of a flexible cutting board to flatten and smooth the paste) then you replace the heat sink/fan.

Dude, you should never flatten the thermal paste out, its very easy to get uneven amounts and small bubbles. You should just put down a rice grain size amount, place the HSF on, swivel about 10 degrees in either direction and then attach it. The paste will spread out as in changes property when heat is applied.

And, for attaching VGA HSF's, you should not use the Arctic Silver 5 that i suggested for CPU fans. It has a conductivity which can potentially damage the parts around the graphics chip (I think its the memory,but i cant remember. All i know is your not meant to use silver 5 on graphics cards). Instead, use some Arctic Céramique.

@the op: If you're gonna spend that much on a psu, get a really good one, not a mediocre one like that hiper.

That one has more than enough power for whatever you happen to get, plus has the new 8pin connector that all the new high end gpu's will require in the next year or so (starting with ati's new hd2900xt).

Thats the same as saying using the cheap *** built in video card thats on comps when you buy them is the same as a 8800GTX768mb.

if your processor is retail, it comes with thermal paste...but most people recommend that you take that off and apply new paste.

Ummm... the fact that with a sound card you can have hardware mixing which means more sounds at once, EAX effects, crystalliser effects.

And dude, with a name like Harry Potter, i find you VERY hard to take seriously. I bet your some 12 year old kid who has absolutely no idea what he is talking about, yet thinks he is an absolute expert because he has a computer.

Don't buy floppy drives, its a waste of money, even though money isnt a problem with you, its stupid to waste ten bucks on a floppy drive. If you really want one, i'll give you a decent one or two for the price of one, and mail it to you(That is...only if you live in the US). Also I would say there is one good advantage to a HD cooler: it keeps dust in a convenient concentrated area that can easily be cleaned in no time. It makes it easier to freqeuently keep your HD in top shape. Not needed, but hell, if you can afford it, get it- the cleaner and cooler, the better.

can i say that your memory you have and how much is key to a fast comp it you get 1gig or 2 of cheap memory it will run ok, if you get the same but good memory with good timeings your pc will run alot faster booting up opening programes and so on, i do have cheap memory, elixer, but played around with the memery timeing's and got them as low as they go it makes a massive diffrence

Actually, for Core 2 Duo computers, latencies make very little difference. The main factor is bandwidth. So don't go out and specially buy low latency RAM.
