Re: Change of rigg to Conroe , did i do the right thing ??
You should buy the 1.8v single stick of ram(a 512mb will be fine) from ANY local computer store with a 100% return promise.
Don't order it from the same place you got the other stuff, drive around the corner instead, you're returning it the next day.
As long as the single piece is DDR2, and 1.8v(which all ram except pc6400+ is). You can probably find a 512 stick for less than $50...which again, is being returned the next day anyway, so use a credit card and you'll never even lose the money for a second :)
Everything I wrote only matters if you run into a problem...since someone mentioned it might be only some mobos with this problem(I don't think so). Then and only then will you need this single piece of 1.8v 512mb "boot ram".
Well you see, that is the problem...ALL of the mobo manuals say they are compatible, which is where the anger is arising from all the people experiencing this problem.
While that memory I'm sure IS qualified...you MAY need a slower stick just to boot the comp. If you read through my post, I think you would have caught onto that aspect.
The p965 defaults at 1.8v which is not enough juice to boot memory that requires 1.9 or greater just to start it. Do you see the problem now?
Also, I clearly said he should try the stuff he bought BEFORE buying anything else...what I posted serves to help him if the comp does in fact not boot up. This would be why. A slower 1.8v stick would allow the necessary changes(if needed)...to get it to run properly.

But the OCZ and gskill memory modules that have been reported as not working are not listed in the manual. I have not seen a post yet (looking on the xtremesystems forums) saying that this particular Corsair module does not work.
