Of course I do... I have a memory like Donald Rumsfeld.
NIce to see ya Wreck, anyways, i dunno much at all about politics (the less ones leader governs, the better), so what's Donald Rumsfield's memory like?
Well i would not recomend ATi anymore... but with the x8** class you get 3Dc and 16 pipelines But the cost of the cards are still high for what they are . Nvidia cards may not have the clock speeds but they still render alot faster due to better GPU's if you are bugiting go with a Geforce 6200 or better 6600GT's are nice and i just landed one for $50 and soon i'll sell this BFG. As for Connect3D i dislike them with passion... i bought a x1600 512mb agp from them and it died while playing battlefront with stock speeds and they would not RMA it so i returned it to newegg.. and they removed the product from there site becuse of all the cards they were getting back. Go with BFG/EVGA if you can Lifetime warrentys ftw
and here is my video card on my system

1) Actually, most of the x8** cards are 12-pipers. They're still great cards, but you wouldn't want to buy one new. I expect eBay to be flooded with last-generation high end graphics cards about 6 minutes after the DX10 cards and Vista come out. If the OP can, suggest he waits until then and picks up a sweet deal on a used card. He can take his pick of the litter that all the oober-1337 upgraders are dumping in favor of paying hundreds of dollers of their own money to become microsoft/nVidia/ATi test subjects for the first gen of these cards. I'd expect to see x800gto's and xt's for $60-80, and x850's for under a C-note depending on the mfg and designation.
2) Currently, yup.
3) Can't argue with that.
Here's an interesting sidebar--a "new" card for AGP'ers. Currently it's the only way (as far as I know) to get HDR on an AGP ATi card.
Now, I wouldn't spend a couple hundred on a low/mid end card, just to get HDR running (and the FPS would suffer immensely with an x1600) on Oblivion, but I thought I'd toss that out there. Does anyone know whether bf2142 will support HDR?
I don't think so. 2142 will use BF2's game engine(Meaning more bugs, low fps, and crappy patches! )
Ah, I see. Thanks. Didn't mean to hijack the thread, so I'll put it back on topic:
GO AGP FTTUCCW (for the total upgrading cost cheap win)!
I'm letting Conroe age before I upgrade. Too much sunk into my 3.0E + AGP x800xt AIW. I am doubling the ram at some point--2x512mb to 2x1gb, but that will be IT until AMD releases something that makes Conroe get cheap(er). By then (~18 months), my upgrade will be looking like a mid-end Conroe and a x1900xtx (or something like that). I may check into water cooling and turning my current sys into a htpc. Something to tinker with on my days off...I used to rebuild mustangs with 289's. My how the times have changed.
