    X800 GTO 256MB CONNECT 3D any good?

Anyone tried or have this card? If so could you post some screens or just explain how it handles BF2 and such.

i have this card, in fact i bought it few weeks ago, i can run 100%VD, medium/low settings, not that great thou, mainly cuz its an agp, dont waste money on agp, their basically obsolete, and alot slower than a pci-e for around the same price

I've got the HIS X800GTO 256MB, I don't know if the x800 comes in agp flavour cause I have the PCI-E one. I'm running on all High Settings except for Dynamic Shadows and Dynamic Lighting which are both on medium with 100% view distance.

        AGP or PCI-E

because i you have a free PCI-E slot you really might want to pay a little more for a 7600gt

Well i see no one has noticed he already has a X1600 Pro so upgrading that to a X800 GTO would be a big waste of money. You would only notice a llittle performance increase. So just save up your money and get a 7600GT or better.

Oh the x800 GTO isn't an upgrade, its for another computer, might consider then upguse the 1600 for the other computer. Both PCI-express. But i could have sworn AGP was slower then PCI-e. Ask around, but i guess a chart is worth 1000 words.

I believe the only reason it's better because it has higher bandwidth than AGP, and has alot better video cards for it as well.

Actually, the x800 isn't really a certain thing. Anything around the 2 hunskie range would do great, the only perarmaters would be medium/high quality, PCI-e and the 175-240 CDN range. Yeah canadian, so anything off of ncix.com would be terrific, no newegg sadly becasue they don't send to canada. Or at least to my knowabouts.

only advantage of pci-e over an agp is the ability to xfire or sli.

Yes but remember that there isnt a card in existence that uses the extra bandwidth that PCI-E offers over AGP.

Its all smoke in mirrors I tells ya.

Oh, and anyone wanting an X800 (PCI-E or AGP) series card from a Pro to an XP PE should check this place out. Cheap as chips!!
