Hey has anyone downloaded Vista Beta from Microsoft (Released today?) and does it work with BF2?

I'm d/l it right now. Over 9 hrs to d/l. I'm gonna install on an older HP laptop. I don't know if Vista is compatable w/ BF2 but I wouldn't count on it since Vista is only a beta and BF2 has enough problems as it is.

ive had vista for a couple of weeks now, it is compatible with bf2 and plays it much better than XP does. there is only one problem with bf2 that ive found so far, its that i got a bad lagging issue, but i figured out it was because of IPv6, which was integrated into Vista. its simple though, you just have to disable it and bf2 should run fine for you, although sometimes i do have some problems with it, ctd's are more common on vista than XP, but overall im thoroughly impressed with Vista and cant wait for the full version to come out

Does Vista work of the drivers from win xp, and if it does do you need to download the 64 bit version of the win xp if you use the 64 bit version. I can't download right now either.

If you use a 64-bit processor and 64-bit XP, then it makes sense to download the 64-bit edition, doesn't it?

The drivers won't work with Vista. However, many drivers are already installed in the operating system so chances are you won't need to install anything. If you do, just visit the hardwares' manfacturer website for Vista drivers.

I hope you guy's doing a clean install of Vista and not overwriting your current windows xp with vista beta there because if you didnt then you will probably run into the most critical errors you ever seen.

Well im about to format and do a fresh install of vista 64 bit. So no I do not have a 64 bit version of windows xp installed.

Yes it is buggy, as most Betas are. DX10 is not out yet. Why would BF2 look any diffrent?

Vista has DX10 already installed... it would look different because updated DX makes graphics run smoother.

Do NOT use a beta OS as your primary system. You'd be an idiot if you did. Dual-boot it with Windows XP.
