Vista has DX10 already installed... it would look different because updated DX makes graphics run smoother.



Do NOT use a beta OS as your primary system. You'd be an idiot if you did. Dual-boot it with Windows XP.

I was under the impression beta 2 didn't ship with DX10. (Not sure, but I havn't heard anything about it.) Anywho it wouldn't make a diffrence as none of our cards support DX10.

how do u fresh install vista without conflicting with xp?..can u guys tell me how did u install the vista cos im afraid i might do something wrong and get a critical errors.

That's what i thought.

However, how do you dual boot it, like on a separate partition? I can't find anything that will tell me how.

You have to repartition your HD, and create a new partition for Vista to use. If your afraind you might mess it up, then you probably shouldn't be doing it.

You should be able to find something to help you on google. You will also need a 3rd party partitioning program, like Partition Magic or similar.

The current bEta version does ship with Dx10. Just run dxdiag and it shows Dx10. 3dmark06 also shows it to be Dx10.

It says DX10, but it really only has a few parts of DX10, enough so that Vista thinks it's DX10.

It's not really dx10, otherwise we wouldn't be able to use it. Like you said, there might be a few compatible dx10 bits, but I'm guessing it's mostly dx9.0L.
