It's not really dx10, otherwise we wouldn't be able to use it. Like you said, there might be a few compatible dx10 bits, but I'm guessing it's mostly dx9.0L.

yea, the very first beta was run on dx9.0. It ran just fine, but it was a little too like XP. So, a few dx10 components were thrown in, to help get it to look like and feel like Vista. However, it does have some performance issues, since these cards aren't designed to run on DX10.
