Hey, thanks for this- but I'm getting some oddball error. I tried setting CPU Affinity to 01, 10, and 11, but get the same error each time.

Here's my shortcut target:

C:\prioaff\prioaff.exe 2 01 "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200

And here is my error that I receive when I try to start up:

mods/bf2/shaders/staticmesh.fx not found!!! _DO_ check your working directory, _AND_ sync your shaders folder before calling upon your local rendering programmer/GP. (really!)

Try going here:

C:\Documents and Settings\G\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

Delete your shaders folder and give it a shot.

Set it to CPU 1 since it's the stronger core and also the OS and other programs tend to run on core 0 more than 1.

Also have you installed the dual core patch?

This "dual core patch" you're referring to- is it the one from Microsoft? I think I installed it awhile back, but if you could link me to it, I'll download/install it.

There is an XP patch and an AMD processor driver.

Yes, installing both of those requires NO change to affinity. I have an x2 as well.

Dual Core Utilities/Updates - for the new guy. There are several useful utilities/programs. Make sure to pick the right ones!

Yeah, I had the MS hotfix already installed. I also updated my AMD X2 driver with the new version from AMD's website. The shortcut still produces the same error.

It's really not a big deal- just have to remember to set my CPU affinity before loading up a map. I've been doing it this way for the past 6 months.

Well I sometimes got an error when I had my Prioaff in a certain directory. Try to put it in a different directory like program files. Don't forget to change your shortcut.

I don't really follow news that much but I read it in a daily paper a week or so ago in an article about Dell starting to use AMD chips.

congrats on paying WAY TOOOOO much for a good comp. any computer literate gamer could have built you the same system for cheaper, or a BETTER system for the same price. but i'm still jelious deep down inside.
