The X1800 XT is better than the X1900 GT, and it's cheaper. The new 6.5 beta I'm trying out seem to work great with the X1900 XTX. I'm not getting the the graphics issues and other bugs I got with the 6.3 and 6.4 cat's.

Hey mate, sell a kidney and buy two 7900s and an Asus Sli Deluxe (Or Any SLi) motherboard. Problem solved!

I didn't see any of the normal texture flashing such as on certian buildings and on my guns. They seem to have released a decent driver for my X1900 XTX. I can't make any guarantees.

Cat 6.5 gets the :nod:

It was my understanding that the extra 256mb on the 512mb cards, are mostly just sitting there not really being use, correct me if i am wrong. Also i have never own one, but i have read in alot of place that the X1000 series dual slot cooling solution is very loud. Image quality, to tell you the truth i really dont notice a difference, then again, imagine quality comes default in ATI set on high quality while NV come default at just quality, i put my up to high quality and i can't tell a difference.
P.S. Just like someone said peace of mind, the only reason i went with NV this time is cause of the warranties some of the manufactures offer with NV, while ATI just now has lifetime on some Powercolor.

The 512mb cards are helping alot on some of the newer games the first of which to use all that ram was COD 2, and now we have Oblivion. It will only get worse as time goes on.

I think all stock coolers are crap and should be replaced immediately.

ATI without a doubt has better quality when adaptive AA and High Quality AF are enabled. This has been demonstrated in these forums before.

Yeah a lifetime warranty is great... If you keep a card for a lifetime. I'm lucky to have mine for a year or two.

Ok since people are saying ATI is better, can someone tell me why whenever someone posts there new computer someone always say nvidia, or they always want nvidia, it seems to be the chosen brand no matter what.

fanboyism for once, loyalty to a company for no reason at all really.... and there have been capability problems with ati.... i have flickering graphics on my x600 and had them on the x850...

so im kinda scared of ati wont solve that problem... but im gonna wait... if the flickering graphics are indeed fixed my 6.5 im gonna get ati... if not the 7900

but it looks like im going for the 7900, i installed hte catalyst 6.5 beta drivers and still get the same flickers... well im gonna wait but it looks like im going nvidia....

hmmm but what im worried about with nvidia is that you cant turn HDR on with AA... and i love both of those :P but i dont want the graphical bugs that ATI has...

sigh, this is harder than i thought :P still a luxeory problem though

Well if im to buy another GFX I would go with Nvidia I think but I haven't given ATI a chance, right now I have a 6600 and it performs really well, I mean I have had no graphic problems, it runs most of my games on top, but oblivion, BF2 and GRAW. Oblivion is laggy even on pretty much low settings, I have to run GRAW on lowest with everything off to get smooth gameplay and BF2 will run all mediums, with one high. So the more games that come out the more they will require so thats the reason for upgrade.

I noticed a slight degregation in image quality moving from ATI to Nvidia. I mostly chose Nvidia for SLi. Most of you know how that's gone for me so far... but I'm hoping my new processor (most specifically, it's cache's) breaks the bottleneck I've been experiencing. Nothing looks purdier than a computer that has two videocards, a sli bridge, and watercooling heh =P
