I saw on the sticker that it was 12.0A Max for V line.

Now i'm confused again

. What do you suggest I do? I don't know what a mobo, or upgrade is :-) Thinking that by the time I do all that and go through the frustration, I could of bought a gaming PC :-)

Wrong, nvidia has already come out with a dual gpu solution called the 7900gx2 (I think), even though it only uses one slot, it still requires a sli mobo.

A motherboard upgrade (new motherboard) is easy enough, just have to make sure it fits everything you have so far. The now video cards are like 2 video cards in one. I didnt know that they still needed an SLI mobo though..

I said that further up on this thread, and that is X2 GPU,s not a dual core GPU

Forgot to say, problem with that it needs an external power supply, the G80 won't.

I'm lost. No clue what I need to get the best out of BF2 that can fit in what I have now without upgrading other things.

If you go for a single card 7900 you will be fine. if you want the dual core GPU's for SLi, go for a cheaper card like a 6800GT/ultra these will do in the meantime and are relatively cheap.

Excellent. And one will support the dual monitors without any problems as well, correct? Because if I lose dual monitor support, i'm screwed, being as i'm a mult-task nut.

ok. I'm trying to think if there is anything else i'm missing......

This single card alone will be able to have me run BF2 at all maxed out rates, 8xAA, etc... correct?

Not sure, you really don't need to run with max settings though. you are usually too busy dodging bullets to worry about how nice the flowers are lol. I think that card barley beats my SLi setup in the benchmarks. I can run all high on 1280 X 1024 and it stutters now and again, if there is loads going on though it takes a big hit. I play at that res with everything on medium and AA(or AF) at X4(in game settings. I don't get any stutters and the game looks good.

I'm trying to get the game to go maxed out and look the way it was ment to be (I have the time to smell the flowers, being as I snipe and I fly alot - so I think it'd rock having max settings.... and if i'm going for it, I want to go all the way and not just "enough to get by"). Feels like i'm back and square one now

A 7900GTX 512Mb will be able to run BF2 maxxx.. no questions asked. It will beat two 6800GT's hands down. The only question here is how it will run while looking after two moniters. If the other moniter isnt really doing anything you will be fine. Just dont play a movie on one and play BF2 on the other, you may get a little bit of stuttering

Like Sir. Blak_Pheonix said as long as you are not doing anything too stressfull on the second one it will prob be fine(depending on quality settings.

So if one of these cards is going to run BF2 to the maxx on everything including the 8xAA and stuff, why would I even need 2 cards? :laugh:

As for the dual monitor thing...when i'm running BF2, i'm going to adjust my card settings to where only one monitor is active anyway.... so i'll be good there. When it's gametime for me, ITS GAMETIME :-)
