Update: The scoring graphics have been changed since this post was originally made. The new graphics can now be seen below in place of the old ones.

Original: Gone are the days of using a 1-10 scale here at Total Gaming Network. Effective immediately we're testing out a new 1-5 scale. This scale will feature only whole numbers and should hopefully be less ambiguous than a larger scale would be. Let's face it, it's easier to tell the difference between a game that's a 4/5 to one that's a 3/5, than it is to tell the difference between a game that's 6/10 and 7/10.

In case you missed it, the new scoring system will make use of the following graphics for easy understanding and viewing of what the score for a game is:


Games scored as a "1" should be avoided at all costs while those scored with a "5" are probably "must-buys" for most gamers. A score of 5 doesn't necessarily imply that the game is completely perfect but it's probably close. A score of "3" is a middle of the road kind of game.

In addition, I will add a new list of Positives and Negatives for each game reviewed right below the score at the bottom of each review. This may prove to be handy for those that dislike reading a lot of words and just want the "CliffsNotes" version of the review.
