A listing on Germany's USK database shows that there might be plans to bring Final Fantasy III to the PC. The rating shows that the game has been approved for persons six years old and up.
The original release of the game happened about 24 years ago now (I bet some of you feel really old right about now). It's seen a variety of re-releases across a number of different platforms. Let's just hope this is a legitimate filing and that we'll start to see this and more Final Fantasy titles popping up on the PC (even those that never had a PC release before *coughFF6,9and10cough*).
I would be interested in this only if Square Enix would stop using inferior audio for the PC port. How Square Enix managed to make the Steam version of FF8 worse than the PC version, which in itself is worse than the PS1 version, is mind-bogglingly beyond me, especially as a repeat mistake from the Steam version of FF7. If they don't fix what isn't broken for the PC port, I might be okay with this.
