yeah I have to agree this "official list" fails... But I didn't expect anything less or more since TGN has obviously turned its back on PC Gamers here lately and has turned focus on creating a MySpace type network and opened arms wide for Consoles. :thumbsup:

Yep....I imagine once people see id's id Tech5 in action on Rage they will be "raging" for it on the PC. id Tech5 will be OpenGL...so say goodbye to DirectX for that title...which is good btw lol. Still, Left 4 Dead will be the hottest game of the year because Valve knows that this is the game to get all those players off of Counter Strike once and for all....and from what I've heard so far, it works on every level.

in my research i asked people online, and those i know around here in person, both console and pc gamers alike and got many answers. i looked at other lists from other sites did many comparisons. and looked at trends over the last couple of years on popularity. and based the list off of that.

and yes consoles are a BIG part of gaming. I don't even own one and I know that.

as I have to agree with some, far cry 2, BF:heroes and maybe BF3 could be on that list, but regardless it still looks like a pretty lousy year of games

Actually, I agree nearly entirely, and its nice not to see just PC games/shooters making up the list, although if Far Cry 2 and BF3 make it out this year one of them should probrably on there. Overall though gj:thumbsup:

It may look like a disappointing year for PC games, but there are some diamonds brought up by forum members:

Left4Dead, Battlefield: Heroes, FarCry2 and a few others are more interesting to me than more console stuff. I could care less about what's happening on consoles.

Let's go start our own PC-only gaming forums. Not really, but not kidding too much, either.

well I guess it could look good for consoles that are looking forward to those exclusive titles like metal gear solid. I don't know what that game is like, though.

I don't even know what that fighting game is about, and those wii games look like they haven't changed since n64.

I watched the Haze video, and compared to some other games it doesn't look very fantastic but seeing that it's a PS3 exclusive, I can see how it could have a big following. the gun noise got a bit annoying though pew pew pew!

I just noticed this, but why isn't BF:BC on that list? It deserves a place right up there with GTA4

I'd like to know where anyone is asking you to care about consoles? We're not asking you to care about consoles. Just like we're not asking consoles players to care about PC. Isn't the point of a business to appeal to as wide of an audience as possible? Atleast for a website the goal is to generate interest among as many people as possible. No one made you click on this news post or made you look at the article, and even if there are console games listed, how does it affect you? Is your daily life ruined now that you saw something about a console?

Give us a break people. We discuss a few console things and people go crazy. No one is making you join in on the console discussion and there are still plenty of PC only topics/areas on these boards. But you have to realize, there are also many gamers that play consoles, or play both. Why can't we appeal to those as well? Those bashing consoles, have you even tried any console games really? If you have and don't like them, so be it, but there's no need to have a cow when something about a console game is posted on TGN.

I fail to see how we have turned our backs on PC gamers. All of the games we cover are PC (aside from GTAIV which will most likely be PC). Now how is that turning our back on PC? Posting console news just opens our audience to more and attracts more people that maybe aren't so hardcore into PC. It doesn't affect you guys, no one is forcing you to read or participate in console discussion. Some of you take this way too seriously. Whatever happened to when gaming was meant to be fun? Regardless of what system it's on...

I think it's good to include consoles because it just opens this website up to more people. I don't see any where on this website that says "TotalPCGamingNetwork".

I think the list is fine. Like I said before, the games aren't as spectacular as last year's, and I haven't even heard of some, but that's not TGN's fault. They're just working with what is available. The only two things I have comments on is that there's no far cry 2 or BF:BC

It's a pretty good list, but once again, you cannot deny that your personal opinion also played a large role in choosing such a list. The same way we express our opinions on the same list.

What?? Why are you going after me here?? There are several others that said pretty much the same thing as I did.

He even asked for a discussion on the subject..

Don't agree with our top 10 list? Then post your thoughts and discuss the article right here.

I gave my insight just as everyone else in this thread including staff that did the same thing be it positive or negative and even neutral.

I even spent a few extra mins to make sure the post was as constructive as possible and per the policy as possible.

Edit:
I will say this, that I was being as honest as I could be about how this site has really changed, but this list is far from correct... and not to take any sunshine from anyone here or to say that Manzi wasted his/her time on the subject cause it does appear some time was invested into coming up with everything..from whom I have no idea but there was some effort portrayed.

That will be all that I'll add to the subject to avoid being a target of some sorts... Thanks
