Ya I know what you mean. What were the makers thinking? Oh and don't even get me started with the way you suddenly come back to life after you die... what do they call that? Oh ya... respawning. I mean you can't do that in 'real life' so why have it in the game. Geeez when will they learn. I am thinking about not even playing FPS type of games because of this. I am way 'turned off' by it.

    *Sarcasm... encase you missed it.

      Same go's for the tanks.
And i love what u did too the kits, there's a nice set of weapons and explosives in each of them.

There are some disslikes too, but i wont go into that right now.
I had a very nice time tonight playing your mod, some of the things u did are really refreshing.
And its good to break away from vannila bf for a change.

Thanks, and keep up the good work.

      thanks for your support man.

if you have issues with the mod, please feel free to post them in the relevant section of our forum.

i will try to deal with them as i can.

NOTE this is not an invite to bitch at the DEV's for all their hard work!!!

Actually is CIWS (Close In Weapons System), not Sea Whiz and CIWS is actually a generic term.... To be more exact it's the MK-15 Phalanx CIWS (sometimes nicknamed R2D2).

But you point still stands, it is only on naval vessels.

(My fater was specialist with thes guns, I actually have some of the 20mm shells from one around here somewhere)

Do people even play Nations at war mod online? I remember just dl the mod and not the maps to see how many people play it and almost none did. Or is there large 32 and 64 players server packed with more than 24 ppl on the server sometimes?

Of the servers running for your mod, which are "map-packers"? Which map-pack is most commonly used?

Re: Nations at War 3.9 Released

well since the mod has just been released, most eservers are just cycling thru the different maps now to see what people like. right now there are about 30-40 servers up running NAW. people usually congregate onto one or two servres that have the most people on it from what ive seen. just yesterday our server (Nations at War 3.9 Main Battle Server) was completely full and cycling thru the maplist.

The BF2 standard maplist, or your custom map-pack maplist?

Re: Nations at War 3.9 Released

I've been playing this mod since 3.7. Great mod! Haven't had a real need to play vanilla BF2 since 3.7.

Development continues. We generally see something new every 90 days or so.

Tournament day is generally Saturday at noon EST and lasts for 8 hours. It's great to have a well-structured battle with coordinated teamwork during the tourney.

Give it a try. You might love it.

Re: Nations at War 3.9 Released

just speant some time playing on 64.69.36.105 NAW 3.9 battle server, but unfortunately it is running four rounds of every map, I never want to play a map 4 times in a row and I think it hurt the attendance in the server.

I was hoping my map would come up, but it did not. Maybe I will see it another day, but 36 maps x 4 rounds each with 200 tickets and 10-14 people per side is a long long time.

I would suggest a couple things, reduce maps played to 2 times each, make people change sides at the end of the round and turn on auto balance. Some of these maps are insanely large. Like Heart attack ridge, kind of a cool battle path up the center there.

Could be a lot of fun if you get the servers filled up.

firstly, thanks for giving us a try.

as for the 4x rounds, that was for 1 particular map, but i guess it never got taken off - will need to repremand the admins, lol.

if you are on our server and want a map changed just ask. there is usually an admin around somewhere.

                        btw, which is yours???

anyway, hope to see you all soon!

For all those wanting to see singleplayer in NAW...

Well tried it out and bit too arcadish for me. Black hawk down would be great tho with some proper realism.

                          But good job nevertheless.

Re: Nations at War 3.9 Released

DL'd it, installed it and played it all in one go. Very smooth process.
Played a couple of rounds last night and had fun.

                            Things I liked:
                            1. Helo's are "twitchy" and not as stable by default. You actually feel like you have to "do" something to fly it.
                            2. Tanks are like "pulp" - they "can fly baby!".
                            3. Ground pounders can take out just about any vehicle without having to hit it four times.
                            4. "Big" weapons mounted on smaller vehicles - when that helo started coming at us from behind in the wide open desert, it sure was nice to be able to jump in the back of the truck and point a TOW missile back toward him.
                            5. Helo's have heat seekers too.

And the things I didn't like were more of the "gotta get used to that" variety than actually not liking them. Like the kits...I choose the kit that was in the "support" position and when I went to throw an ammo pak during game play, I wound up with a smoke grenade (and there were no ammo packs).

I probably would have played longer but the server wasn't very populated and I had CTD while loading one of the desert maps (not Black Hawk Down or the other map listed on their site that you need the seperate installer for).

                            I had fun though.

Thumbs up on the Mod! bunch of us played last night for 5 hours on a server that had + 30 players.
                              - install was very easy
                              - lots of cool new stuff
                              - lots of real neat new ideas
                              - AWESOME maps
                              I do feel the Tanks need to be slowed down and made a little stronger. Other than that its very well done. {Salute}
