That video looked like complete ass and the mechs are a complete rip off from mech-warrior! Seriously a mod team could have done as good a job. Quake wars is going to wipe the floor with this.

For gods sakes fix BF2 first before releasing more crap!

Mechs and invisible stuff, another kick in the balls for gameplay. I get the feeling this is not a 'serious' release and is just a quick money maker as it will probably be sold mainly for the XBOX 360 as surely PC gamers will be buying Quake:ET in their droves.

If you want to play with Mechs i'm sure there will be a mod out their for you.

Forgotten hope 2 and the likes will be this games saving grace for me.

Sorry, I WILL NOT be buying this. It looks under par to me, and totally out of character for the Battlefield franchise. After the dismal support that EA and DICE have given us for BF2, I'd rather check out other promising games like Quake Wars and Ghost Recon 3.

Sorry Digital Illusions, but I think this is a bad move. You're saying to us you can slap on the Battlefield name to sell a product just like FIFA 2005, 2006, 2007 etc.

Oh and also, like mentioned above, it's obvious that the majority of staff have been working on this which is why we've had atrocious patches! Thanks a lot for that. Wonderful.

A battlefield game set in that time stage would never get off well. On top of everything else I could add... ...EA would never be able to make a release by the fall of 06. It's all a big joke.

Yep, there is no way they can keep on schedule, they've proved that time and time again. Early 2007 is my bet.

The people that have said this is BFV for BF2 are spot on! It's clearly obvious a few new skins have been put on the models, same animations etc. The intro sequence itself doesn't exactly inspire awe like it's aiming for, a shoddy movie which is unusual as normally videos are a strongpoint for DICE, they do them well most of the time.

Who's to say that a lot of the bugs in BF2 won't reappear in this game?! Same engine, mainly I would guess same developers. If they won't fix bugs in BF2, they won't do it in the months after this games release.

I am deeply dissapointed in DICE. Battlefield 2 has not been out for a year yet, but now they show us this. First of all, fix freaking BF2. There are still so many bugs. The only way im buying this game is if DICE really gets it together.

But Sci-Fi is not good. Keep it just with walking soldiers and tanks etc...

i will say it different,

BF1942 was amazing

BFV was a very good idea that went wrong

BF2 would be amazing if DICE wasnt bought by EA and the rest everyone knows (bugs gameplay nerfing in the wrong places etc)

well i have to admit i've allways loved mechs, but i've learned my lesson with BF2, they make it all look as pretty as they can and when its released eerything is cut off just to put it later on expansion packs, what next? they will cut the mechs legs so they cant bunny hop?

but i have to aggree with the ppl that say this is a mod made by DICE the graphics on the game look very similar to the ones on BF2.

for a next BF game i think they should go with a remake of BF1942, i would be aaaaalll over it baby :P

well, tbh ... the mechs and weird robots,etc. i dont like... the invisible thing, definately not... and the overall sci-fi thing... just doesnt do it for me... but then again i think that change isnt a bad thing... i mean dont get me wrong... this doesnt look very battlefield-ish but you never know... it could be fun... i mean take a look at GR:AW ... that furistic and its awesome!

I never liked quake to be honest. was never my "style" in a first person shooter. But since I have seen where DICE is heading in this genre I / we must adapt.
So adaption appears to be Quake Wars: Enemy Territory.
Based solely on videos .... Quake ET ownzorz. < is that what the kids say these days or has that changed already. (ownzorz.)

bs2142 looks like mechwarriors mixed with planetside. Since the game will be based on the current bf2 engine, there will be massive amount of bugs that DICE hasnt been fixing them. Overall looks are quite disappointing. I expect more than that to make me buy that game. If its a $10 mod, maybe. But if its a $40 game, then no. ETQW is a much more promising game than this BF2142. EA, stop thinking of ways to ruin the battlefield franchise. The more you do, the less people appreciates...

This will be like when EA released Sims Online. Everyone bought it for the title and most of them quit cuz of poor gameplay. BF2142 will be no different. I would rather get ETQW than BF2142 hands down!

I did read all of these posts.. (yeah i know, but its like the morning paper).
However, it appears QuakeWars EnemyTerritory........will come out victorious. But, it might come down to who can release first. If QW comes out first, I got a feeling BF2142 will be the end of the BF series.
Instead of space stuff, they shoulda went with a more grandeur fighting arena, to be trusted as a BF title.
Anyone play ROME TOTAL WAR. I hate top down games, but that rocks. Could you imagine BF series do a ROMAN style game, or a Storm the castle style game, complete with knights in shinning armor?
I could see the advertisments now...
