Id just be happy if there was a stricter enforcement of the age certificates for games.
Not becuase i think it curropts todays youth....
But becuase as soon as something ingame happens its a BUG, its never their crappy net connection or some random glitch, or their 3 year old gfx card.
oh no.... god forbid somebody would just realise that patching a game is not as simple as typing in a new line of code and voila....
i may be hoping for too much though.
Maybe someday far from now we will be able to filter games servers by players age.... let the teens fight their battles whilst the rest of us have some GG's (ive got a cheek to say this though since i was only 20 in Nov.... but f*ck it, point stands)

Some valid points and some silly bitching (you're allowed to say bitch btw). In all honesty though, even I'm starting to get tired of the mistakes. BF2 is by far the best game that there is, and in that aspect we should give them the benefit of the doubt that the code is super complex and just amazingly hard to fix after it's already been released. And I'm okay with that; personally.
Their explainations make sense. If you try to fix one thing, you might ruin 10 other things. I haven't been here since the release, so I can't say what's been fixed, nerfed or ruined. My fps dropped from about 90 to about 80 with this patch , but my computer has been screwing up lately so it's probably that, not the patch.
If what I stated as being the remains of the Red Blue bug are all there are, then it's simply an exploit that helps out medics on the opposing team. In the active field, it won't be that much of an exploit. It's more confusing than helpful, and I wasn't able to revive the other team's players.
I support EA, and I give that support based on the fact that they have a presence here. They obviously care. Any fool with a mind for buisness knows that every "bad" patch hurts them. Not only does it tarnish their image, but it also hurts their wallet. Since 1.2 didn't live up to it's name, and 1.21 didn't live up to it's name (even before it was released), even less people will buy Euro Force than planned to. They are a buisness, and that hurts them.
Everyone thinks that fixing things is easy. They like to think that EA is a bunch of idiots. But that runs against every model of personal and corporate buisness , if you know how the figures you're looking at work.
A standard home buisness is expected to be in the red for over a year before turning a profit. A corporate buisness is only aplified in that aspect. When you add in how many employees they have, how much the DICE buyout cost, and the limited input of money from shareholders and game players (especially when things turn out as bad as they have been lately for EA/DICE) you'll see that the only explaination is that, unfortunately BF2 is pretty much at where it's at. There'll only be small fixes from this point forward. Waiting for the holy grail of patches is just going to waste your time and patience, and make you anti-EA, which is silly, because it's quite obvious that the next battlefield game will rockem and sockem. Do you really think they haven't learned bigtime from this?
In the end though, it's all in the player, and about half of hte players will always complain regardless of the gamepay and bugs introduced. Like I said in another thread, I'll put money on the bet that no one, team or person alone, can put out a mod that's basically a community released patch that makes BF2 the perfect game everyone thinks it should be. If you do so, you'll not only get a cash prize from me, but you'll win over the entire community of a couple dozen thousand large, and either you'll be bought out by EA for hundreds of thousands of dollars, or put them out of buisness. How about that for a dare?
Our mod is going fairly successful. I think we have a real chance at bringing a good amount of players back online to see that the modding community is making a difference and that even on a budget of zero, good things can happen.
What makes things hard is lack of community support sometimes. While I know .1 of USI wont please everyone, I do think players will start to want to give us feedback, tell us what sucks and what rocks, feel like there envolved. I am not saying we will baby everyone who crys but wil build apon ideas, which is what making a game is. Thinking then building. What to build off of and how to make you go back to step one which is thinking, which is fun. Games that make you think are fun. I liked BF2 when it first came out. Things were challanging. Now everyone knows the exploits and the most challanging part is finding a good game.
So ya, I have faith in EA and Dice. (Dice a little more though) I really think Dice though should really just support the Modding community from here on out. Give acknowledgement for mods that are just starting and well on there way to being released. It seems cheaper and the public greatly supports mods, EA might not see a dime but we won't take any dimes. You sell More copies of Bf2, people like the mods, tell a friend or student, and things build on from there.
I want a certificate... from EA/Dice to many mods each month that says "We Love where you are taking our ideas. Continue toThink Build and we will continue to support. Love your Fav Developer ... Dice"
Bungie is good at that, That's why I would always feell at home in a Bungie community. I ant to feel at home here...
This turned into my first blog ... creppy.

i donno bout other ppl but for me, only about 10-15 servers i am able to play, others when i try to enter says i have a newer version. im guessing most servers havent updated yet but im worried when all of the official EA servers r still running on 1.2...can someone reassure me plz?
(edit) just found a topic in relation to my question. thx anyways
Hmm...I just played on a ranked v1.21 server. I don't know what some of you are going on about...
Well, our Ranked server provider as of about 10 min ago still had not recieved the BF2 ranked server files for this hotfix. I even saw this on EA's web site.
EAUK_Protagonist
The patch is legitimate, however it is not scheduled for release until tomorrow, so there's a high probability you won't find many/any servers to play on until then.
I just got done playing approx. 2hrs of 1.21...this is by far the worst patch ever released.
I'm not sure if my problem was the bad luck of playing on 10 different servers, all with serious lag and performance issues.
They obviously never touched to fix the audio bug where you can't hear the enemy's gun fire. The AT rockets act a little better now. The AA locks on a little differently it seems as well.
We confirmed, once again, the red/blue name tag bug.
Again, why would they release something this quickly. It's NOT FINISHED, DON'T RELEASE IT!!!!!
So, I guess I will wait for POE2 to have its release before I enjoy playing this game.
I will try and play tomorrow, hopefully there will be more than European servers running by then.
maybe some wouldnt b so excited if ea released the official fix list for 1.21(unless there was i didnt know about)prior to releasing, working around the clock for the last 2 weeks and thats all they could do?? im no developer or w/e those guys are called but i dont think it would take much to fix those problems??? and i agree with those who say DONT RELEASE IT UNTIL ITS FINISHED. i wont be happy untill i see a 1.22 fix list of atleast 89787897987 fixes:laugh:
Fixed the error in Client - Server communication causing sound, animation and other sync issues.
I'm hoping this fixes a wide array of wierd things I've seen and heard since 1.2 came out.
It's probably a good thing that they spent some real time on only a few fixes. If they try to do too much to quick, you'll just get the ugly son of the 1.2 fiascal, with more bugs than fixes. Coding & testing takes time, and you can blame the management for over-working the developers to push the 1.2 release out like they did. Management is usually the cuplrit, with the developers getting all the blame.
