after installing the update, has anyone had a problem with getting back into BF2? i have a missing DLL file now. can't figure out what the prob is. its the RendDX.DLL file that is missing.

why is it that if someone is un-happy with the game , and gives examples to back up this opinion, they are whinging? other developers have set a precedent for updating and supporting the communities that spawn around their product. If EA/Dice cant rise to this challenge then they are going to come under flak. And its a shame as 42 was a good game, the mods that came out for it took it to a new level and BF2 began a brand new level of game. v1 wasnt that out from being a good game. 1.12. was even closer. All it needed was tweaked and a bit of new content, free content mind so that the WHOLE community can adopt it, and it would have been still a great game to many who dont find it so now.

If you like it as it is now enjoy it. But i, along with more than a fair number dont like it as it is and personally Im hoping that the mod community, such as USI, will give me some use out of BF2 before a new usurper to the crown comes along ie: ET:QW

I'm downloading the patch now.. am curious what differences will have been made. I'm looking forward to the reduced claymores.. they've been a real pain the last couple weeks.

to the community... you need to differentiate what Dice promised and what you expected. They fulfilled their promise to the letter. They claimed they were going to fix major problems before releasing Euro Forces. They meant "show-stopping" problems. Like unplayable games on major production graphics cards. They wouldnt delay release of a product because the community doesnt like how accurate the pkm is. Give them some credit. Hopefully after Euro Forces is released, they all go have a beer at the pub, they'll come back and address some of these nagging issues. Be patient.

I got the patch from the ea site, but now for the first time i get stuck in the "connecting to account server screen, and have to hit the f'in reset button on my case after like ten mins.

i hate it when a new patch comes out and your favorite rooms use it:wall: because downloading a patch from the EA takes about 3 hours on my computer :wall: but i have to download it or else i am "Special FORCED" to seek new rooms so now i am downloading i have now downloaded 12% so now i have to wait 2 hours and 45 minutes before i can play Battlfield 2 again. and i also have to install special forces (and believe me installing a game on your computer is allways asking for trouble) i have never succeeded installing a game without any kind of a problem. Well now i am lying, The dos games i installed without any problems:p this is al little offtopic if it is to much delete it then:p

Installed the patch last night.

BF2 runs smoother, no more jerking as you join the map, and graphics seem alot smoother at 1024x768.
