Community Update - 2/16/06

There has been a new community update posted today over at the Battlefield 2 website. It addresses the recent patch release as well as the Euro Force booster pack. Here's what they had to say:
Patch 1.2 is out and we hope you are all enjoying the changes. For the most part, the initial response from the community has been very positive. We’re pleased to be able to make your gameplay experience more pleasant.

The next big addition to Battlefield will be the Battlefield: Euro Force booster pack, which will be released on February 21st. In addition to the release of Euro Force, we are preparing an updated version of the editor for release at roughly the same time.

On a less pleasant note, there is an issue with 1.2 and some Special Forces maps. All variants of Leviathan and the 32 and 64 player variants of Night Flight have a crash bug. We have advised our ranked server providers to remove these maps from their map rotation until a resolution has been set in place. We will be able to provide more news in future updates. I stress, this is only an issue with the Special Forces expansion pack and nothing more.

There have been a few comments regarding AT rockets passing through targets. We have noted the issue and are working towards a solution.
Though a bug that shouldn't have been missed appears, glad to see they are working hard to a solution. Stay tuned for the release of Euro Force, and as always, more news!

Hopfefully a 1.21 or a 1.3 will fix this issue. Plus also if you play the Wake island map if you are Assault the grenade launcher shoots the grenade through the flight deck.

Glad to see Air Power has expanded it's life span to an average 18-19 seconds ...
Love the changes for infantry side of combat but vehicles just make it a bummer at points ...

EA/Dice: Come on, test your patches more than for few weeks. The fixes and changes for the 1.2 update were good, but still it's very buggy and unstable patch.

I haven't played 1.2 more than two hours, but i still saw many annoying bugs, like Medic shouting "Clear! Clear! Clear!" many times after reviving and APC's shooting three rockets at the same time. And what i've heard, the red nametag bug is still there.

Well, the list of bugs still goes on, but in my opinion this patch is still quite good. I've started to play as a Support more now. I wub PKM.

Couple of bugs:

Blackhawk bug

Medic bug

I hope that EA/Dice releases this hotfix and fixes the 1.2 patch. Good luck.

Unbelievable. I haven't even played SF yet since the patch, so I would have been greated with a CTD bug! Nice.

Ah jeez, I guess I care too much about this game, I think it's best to not have any strong allegiance to any game, so when the next best thing comes along you can jump ship.

No excuses, hotfix. Not another two month wait for another buggy patch, please.

1 Screaming Child does not mean a whole nursery is upset.

The single screaming child does, however, cause many of the other children to scream even if they're not sure why they're screaming.

And when the whole nursery is crying doesn't mean something is actually wrong, yet efforts are made to focus on these people, when that's all they're doing: crying. There are people whom you simply can't please, no matter how many things you nerf or empower to try and appease them. Meanwhile, serious issues with the game run rampant and unattended.

There have been a few comments regarding AT rockets passing through targets. We have noted the issue and are working towards a solution.
This is just one of the many bugs which have been around since the DEMO, yet they are just now addressing it? Odd that simple .con tweaks to silence the people with 2 dimensional playing habits are prioritized over core problems with the game this long after the release.

So… you guys are saying that because one (ONE) person (i.e. Screaming Child) has had a problem with loading the game, frame rates, crashes, ext… that one “Screaming Child’s” computer has affected ALL the others that loaded the patch (cause many of the other children to scream)?
<O:p</O:p
<O:p
What world are you guys living in?

For the record, I like 95% of what the patch “fixed”!
