reverted to a restore point and I'm still screwed.

Windows System Restore is the Devil, don't trust it, don't rely upon it. Turn it off and use Ghost or something in its place.

If you haven't performed a clean install, instead of a re-install, try that now.

Also, consider clocking at stock speeds while installing Windows, battlefield, etc., it helped others fix some problems.

I absolutely understand what you are going throu... I got the patch last night (worm free), installed it, played a few rounds and was ****ed how bad the game now was. Today, I came home from work, tried a few rounds and the game was crashing here and there, lagging like **** and dozens of little problems. I had to re-install the game, because it gave me some renderdx9 errors and and

I honestly cant stand it anymore and hoping that Quake Wars will be the game to burn my BF2 dvd.

I'm trying not to be short here so please excuse any courseness in my answers. I unintalled everything including gamespy TWICE. I documented in a recent thread how everything worked up until this patch. I can no longer play the game, be it single player or multi. I can't figure out what I did wrong except for download quickly from a TBF2 user's link. Sure, maybe it's a bad download but I really doubt it because tons of users from this thread downloaded from the same link. I'm sure it's pathetic and sad but besids work, BF2 and this computer are my life. But considering tonight's experience I'm thinking of throwing everything out the door. I'm not quick to blame other people, patches, etc. But I've done everything right and documented each patch to patch working status and 1.2 is what made bf2 fail for me. I know that I'm in the minority and I'm thankful for that. But I really enjoyed the game and it sucks that it's no longer an option of enjoyment for me.

This game as of today has went down the drain. I am sorry but to take away my ability to get away from tanks and apcs slower now than before has weakened this game. The so called prone spam fix actually didnt fix crap but now make it that if you prone you have to stay prone for at least 1-2 seconds. Snipers have become "Superman" in this game with their one shot one kill. Sorry to sound so negative but EA/DICE has sure pulled a number on this one and oh I almost forgot. I get in a server and get TK'd 5 times because I had the RED TAG BUG. Thanks alot DICE you pieces of ***t.

I installed the incremental and the game wont start now - going to do the full next, then go to bed -

I knew this was going to happen. It shows a process called ~5e.0001 running alongside BF2 and I dont know wtf that is.....

It was running fine before, had some little problems here and there, stopped playing BF2:SF because it Fing sucked....

anyone have a problem choosing unlocks? I can choose them with the US side but not all of them show up on the MEC side.

~e5.0001 running along side BF2 is normal dont worry about that, im not sure what it does i just know its legit.. edit: i googled a little, they say it has something to do with copy protection on ALL EA games.

and is anybody else not ranking up? i got all the unlocks so its not a big deal but if if it doesnt give me 2nd LT when i hit 60k tomorrow....

ok i've downloaded the incremental and the full. the incremental installs but says i need 1.12, i already have it. i reinstalled 1.12 and tryed again w/the incremental still didn't work. the i installed the 1.20 full and it went all the way through the installation and patching and said patching was complete. When i log in to BF2 it says that i still have 1.12. can someone plz help me i am so f**king lost its not funny
