There is a new update posted today over at the <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/firststrike/index.php" target="_blank">First Strike</a> mod website. They are back again with some great new renders to showcase. Here's what they had to say:<blockquote>Before displaying the renders, I'd like to say that in these past few weeks we've made a lot of progress. Besides the work that has been done on modelling and texturing, we have also seen the creation of new sound effects, as well as brand new music. There's also been a lot of work put into correcting some of the things on the X-Wing, many of which you guys have commented on. The next few weeks will hold some exciting progress for our mod, some of which will be previewed in updates in the near future. But enough about the past or the future, let's focus on the present, the update. Without further ado...</blockquote><center><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/sshot_lrg_hothshieldgen.jpg"><img src="/news/images/thumb_sshot_lrg_hothshieldgen.jpg"></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/sshot_lrg_imprhvyrep.jpg"><img src="/news/images/thumb_sshot_lrg_imprhvyrep.jpg"></a><br><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/sshot_lrg_ltmine.jpg"><img src="/news/images/thumb_sshot_lrg_ltmine.jpg"></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/sshot_lrg_landingbaywip2.jpg"><img src="/news/images/thumb_sshot_lrg_landingbaywip2.jpg"></a><br><a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/sshot_lrg_t1bwip.jpg"><img src="/news/images/thumb_sshot_lrg_t1bwip.jpg"></a> <a href="http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/sshot_lrg_isdwip.jpg"><img src="/news/images/thumb_sshot_lrg_isdwip.jpg"></a></center><br>As always, a very impressive update from the FS team. Re: First Strike Mod Update
I'd be pretty surprised if they really managed that. :P But who knows.Originally posted by FoxenWhen did they say this mod was gonna have it's release? Didn't they say march-april? omg thats just 1 month left.
The models are cool, but some of the textures (especially weapons) aren't that hot, imo.Comment

Well if you are talking about the laser trip mines, that is the first skin I have ever made and still learning. Maybe you could post some constructive criticism to help me improve? :)The models are cool, but some of the textures (especially weapons) aren't that hot, imo.Comment

The Laser Trip mine was rendered at a smaller size this interpolated when I created a Template for view ofr the update. Be assured as a "newbie" mod team we do have a very thorough continuity check in place but seeing as we are human (a few Hutts, a Jawa and the odd Ewok), errors do occur.
The Lambda in the Screens does not have a skin on and those "Imperial" emblems were put there for a bit of fun :)
I am really excited by working with this Team, this update is the "tip" of an iceberg as to progress in coding, textures, models, maps and gameplay.
Im very proud to be associated with this Team and I believe the finished product will be as polished as GC if not twinkling in comparison albeit two very different engines :)Comment
We still have lots to do, and of course there is play testing to think about.
