Tanks should have a rather short life expectancy with air to mud stuff like this.

Let's hope the GAU-8/A isn't nerfed like the mini guns on the blackhawks now, and hopefully the strength of the airframe isnt degraded to appease those on the recieving end of the 30mm doom hammer.

its scary how many of you 'players' don't know what you are looking at, or where and what anything vehicle related is or comes from. please don't join my squad in game, i don't wanna die by the hands of my own deaf-blind-dum-no-book-reading-confused-as-hell-shoot-anything 'team-mates', you scare me. As for the mods, bring on USI, Armoured Fury, POE2, and maybe even FH2, modders don't be gittin nuff respect round here, as for 'Dcon' , rofl, con being the operative part of that title, they promised 'DC' for BF2, before they even looked at the engine and before they knew that 'DC' could not be re-animated from the bf2 codes. bless, but dont tell them, they hate to be told, they consider themselves coding gods after DC for '42, and a grand job on DC was done too, but not dc for bf2, aint gonna happen like that, fool

While I think it would be awesome to have the A-10, I have to worry about the balance of the game. The A-10 has one role, close air support. Tanks and APC's would have no chance with that thing in the game. Oh, and Warthogs do carry AIM-9 Sidewinders so they can go air to air and defend themselves, not likely but they can. This plane would outturn even the J-10 and come behind it before the J-10 could get a quarter away turned. They fly slow and low hugging the tree lines. The 30MM cannon would waste anything with a few shots. Like I said, I love the A-10 and have hauled many Ammo trailers out to it in Germany, But I think it is a little much for this game.

Just my two cents

and lets not forget, A-10's have been known to RTB with 3/4's of a wing missing, 1 complete vertical stab gone and running on one engine.

I have a few stories if the hog when I was deployed to Italy in 99 for Kosovo, but I'll save them for another time.

About the American Eurocopter AS350. My Dad is Vice President of Flight Operations and Training. AE<for short> has been trying to conduct a deal to the US Military to Use this helicopter as Medivac and general Miltary use in America. I dont know what AF knows about AS350 on this game being used as a military craft that I dont know of. The deal has yet to me made. THis was a FYI.

You're judging how the A10 will be in the game based on its performance in real life. Do you understand how silly that is?

I have to laugh when I read about the A-10. The A-10 is only any good when the side using it has Air Supremacy. If the other side has any jets at all it will be useless. They are too slow, fact!

I was in Gulf War 91 and saw them flying over us with full armaments and returning with full armaments. The A-10 Pilots were complaining that the other jets had destroyed everything before they could get to the target areas. The only targets they could use were vehicles already abandoned. Such was the frustrations of many A-10 pilots that they were overly keen to kill anything they could. It was A-10's that caused the biggest loss of lives in the British Forces. They attacked and destroyed two Warrior APC's full of troops. Hard to understand when you are in the slowest moving aircraft above the battlefield and the targets have flourescent roofs, which show up clearly even with nightvision. In addition, which vehicle could the Warrior be mistaken for? No Iraqi vehicle looks anything like it.

For the modern battlefield the A-10 is usless but it is an aircraft we all want to fly. Will be interesting to see what it's flight characteristics are in BF2. No doubt it will be made to go quick so it can survive other aircraft.
