    Also, that is not "giving" up on Mod Support, that is just the job (only that job) of Mod Support Coordinator that is no longer being supported with that title but instead being shifted among various other people.
    I'll tell you what’s going to happen;

    They will take all support from us modders for about a year or so. Then after the game starts getting old, they will come to us, the modders, and say;

    "Oh you faithful, long suffering and loyal servants. Show your love and devotion to your great mother! Produce some mods that will glorify her and make HER even more $$$".

          Well its no secret they are already working on the next Battlefield. But maybe its another game?

          Also $10 for new maps, an army and weapons is a plus for me. It beats paying a monthly subscription where hardly updates dont occur.

            I see alot of people complaining about shelling out 10 bucks for a booster.
            Ill bet they think nothing of spending 10 bucks on a movie and popcorn for 2 hours entertainment, but wont spend 10 bucks for 50 hours additional enjoyment from BF2. Thats about 20 cents an hour or less.
            Now if you dont go to see movies cuz they cost too much, then I understand your plight about paying for a booster.

                Why do you need a new job? Aren't you supposed to be the "Mod Support Coordinator", you ask? Well, the short answer is yes, I was, but unfortunately that position is no more. As you may or may not know, EA has recently Aquired Dice, (Or is in the process of doing it, I really don't know all the details), and as part of this there has been a lot of internal reorganization, with responsibility for BF2 shifting to the UK. As a consequence, it was decided that among other things, the Mod Support Coordinator position couldn't be supported any longer and the various duties of that position would be shifted to different departments in the company.
                If you weren't so ignorant... you'd notice that it says it will be SHIFTED TO A DIFFERENT DEPARTMENT(S)! That means there is still support, but no longer is there going to be just one guy as support. It's like a government when shifting departments... they just get rid of one but transfer thre job to a bigger, more "productive" department in order to save money."

                "studiper isnt even a word"

                of course STUDIPER isn't a word... give yourself a golden star for finding that one out on your own :laugh:

                What do you expect? After about 1 to 2 years the game is offically "dead" to the market. EA is not the only company that would drop the support after awhile because all companys can't just pull money out of their A$$ to pay for the people to work when, EA themselves, would make no money from it.

                Anyways, by a year or 2, the mod teams should be edone a final, stable mod and looking for other game engines to work on as the BF2 engine would seem limited compared to others. Also, you prob won't need support after 2 years since all the problems people have ran into have been solved and then, what the modders do is help each other out with their problems.

                I don't get it, you guys should be thanking EA for trying to help you out by giving you free mod tools AND support for them... yet... all you guys can do is complain... shows how ungrateful our society is becoming...

                  I'm looking forward to lots of great mods, but I don't know of any that allow you to invade the US ;-)

                  Battlefield 2: Armored Fury will add three new maps, all set in the rural heartland of America where the US forces defend their homeland from Chinese and MEC forces. This Booster Pack will also introduce two new vehicle classes: Attack Jets with the ability to use rocket pods and cluster bombs, and agile Scout Choppers which will reveal nearby enemies. "Midnight Sun" takes place on the Alaskan border, where Chinese forces make landfall. "Operation Harvest" will take the player to the vast open plains of Pennsylvania where only the expert use of air and armor will assure victory. "Operation Road Rage" sees all-out tank warfare on the freeways of America.

                      just because there is no longer a "support" department doesn't mean there is any support u moron. I made an example if you'd have taking the time to read my post! The government does stuff like this 2. Like resently, a commity for the arena board in the town I live near by was moved to a different department because there was no point of have a position that only does one thing or they wanted to save money...

                      The guy who called you stupid was right. THINK before you say things. It clearly says that a different department will provide support. The funny thing is, you quote this stuff... yet you seem to have no clue on what it means...

                          Re: January Newsletter

                          I wonder how many mods will jump ship when a new game is released like maybe Unreal 2007 or Enemy Territory: Quake Wars even. I guess it depends on how many people these other games can steal from the BF2 player base. BF2 isn’t exactly a moders wet dream, truly lackluster support from DICE right out of the starting block and the way they seem to make it doubly hard to create new content for the game it’s amazing that anyone has even bothered. I applaud their hard work and dedication.

                          As for the booster pack, if this will require yet another dedicated server and separate desktop executable for the user I don’t see myself bothering with it for only three maps, how else would they lock down the content from being stolen from them? Now if they did a migration thing where the existing base maps where modified to allow server operators to run vanilla maps with these new vehicles and weapons that would be worth it perhaps.

                          They’ve hesitated in touching on the existing maps because they didn’t want people to feel like they were repurchasing content they had already bought but I think this is a mistake, I would like to see all the existing content merged together and allow things like playing SaK at night with China vs SAS and having the option to replace vehicle types and armies with a simple template format that server operators could use to make unique engagements out of the existing content. Save the realism stuff for mods, this is just an arcade game after all, lets stop kidding ourselves on that one.

                            Omg... your an idiot... He, himself, got dropped because there was no point of just having him as he was just a support guy and they are no longer have a "just support" department. They'll get someone in the department they moved support to. Most likely, the people who BUILT that mod tools.

                            Do you understand?
